April Contest
This contest is slightly hard to explain, so please, if you are at all confused, just post your questions, or PM them to me, ok?
What you need to do for this contest is pick a word, any word, and then illustrate the word to look like the definition of the word. Let's say I chose the word "Pie" I might make the letters look like they were made out of pie crust or pie slices with a whole piece as the dot of the "i".
Or perhaps I might choose the word "Fat" and make the word shorter than normal and wide with rounded edges... still with me?
Feel free to use what ever fonts you want (or make your letters by hand), but if you write your word in a "picture" font, like montype sorts.. we won't be able to tell what the word is, so try to not use fonts with no letters wink
As always, all submissions must follow gaiaonline's rules and regulations.
Due Date: April 30, 2005
Resources: Illustration (your own) and/or stock photography (as long as it is free for use, or you have permission to use it).
File Format: .jpg, .png, or .gif are best, .bmp is ok if you must.
Size: Please try to keep your submission less than 800px wide.
Prize: Thank you letter for April 2005
Multiple Entries are allowed
Still entries only, Please no animation.

Was going to propose that too in suggestions thread but forgot xp * Very glad for the contest * maybe this* will do the explaning - but no animations I suppose? *Link is borrowed from jam-wired's site from "a website with some school work..." - thread (sorry for not asking if i can borrow... sweatdrop ) P.s. Hoorayyyy! Great idea (sorry I forgot to post in the yahoo group that I'm not offended, I think this is a better idea in the end anyway).
I hope I'll have time to enter... this is gonna be another busy month for me xp
//EDIT: Da_ta, that font thing you found is cool xd But yeah, animations might make it a bit unfair for other people who can't animate... up to Raine Dragon though.

let's try to stay with static things for this contest, so, no animation., okies?
perhaps if alot of people are interested we could have a contest based on animation, but there would need to be intrest and people would need to have the resources to make animations.. If I learn that there is both intrest and people with the tools, then perhaps we can have one, no promises though sweatdrop

Kijo biggrin whee if youre asking about multiple entries: yes (see first post) if youre asking about entry from multiple words (like: black rose, or something): i think it depends, if the saying is really known only as a whole, i think it should be allowed, but still Raine Dragon has the last saying...

if the two words can be madeinto one with a hyphen or are two words that are placed together as an object name "school books" or "backpack" then that is ok. I would recomend staying with one word per entry if you can though, and no more than 2 words.. even if the can be connected (none of this: bob-the-magical-green-fish) wink
so, to um it up. as many entries as you want, no more than 2 words per entry, although 1 word is best. 3nodding
