I want to go into journalism (I'm half way done with a BS in English), or transferring and going into something involving drafting or web-design.

She wants me to teach.

I know this may sound a bit stupid but, would it be possible to compromise with her. Like major in journailsm like you want but then have teaching as a minor?

You can't minor in education. If you go in to education, you basically have two majors. I'd have to get a BS in English and get licensed to teach, which are basically two degrees.
