i think most animals that are harvested for food are happy when they aren't being harvested for food

in a kind of blissfully ignorant way

but they don't have their own sayings, so they have to be happy as a clam

though taking it more literally nothing other than a clam can be happy as a clam because in order to be happy as a clam you must first be a clam

what if a clam was also snug as a bug in a rug

or blind as a bat

though bats do have pretty good vision, so i do not think that would work (do clams have eyes)

so maybe

ones that don't carry diseases, anyway

or a cat, i could settle for one of those

even a fish

and i think clams are as blind as eyeless bats because that is pretty much what they are. the shell is just a super-evolved version of fur (obviously). i won't bother mentioning everything else because it is exactly the same in everything, especially sponges.

why are bugs snug in rugs

because rugs are warm or are they eating the little particles of whatever in the rug or are they eating the rug or what.

the bugs like to eat from the ever-replenishing supply discarded skin cells, I think; they're a great source of protein and vitamin D

i don't particularly care for them, so it's fine with me

besides, a skin-encrusted carpet doesn't seem very fashionable to me

Fish aren't my favorite creatures, they do bore me.

Clams only know how blissful they are. I don't know if we could test their endorphin levels, though I'm not sure they even have emotions.

Interesting, I looked at a book of snappel facts and couldn't find one about clams having fins.

I don't think clams have eyes because they wouldn't have a use for them. I am digusted by the adults who think bats are blind. The original saying was, "Blind as a bat in broad daylight."

A shell seems like another use for keratine and calcium and of course an exoskeleton, other than fur, which lacks calcium. I'm still scared of the fact clams (or maybe oysters) can change their genders in mono-gendered habitats.

Well, I think dust mites (my only non-inevitable allergen) are the bugs that will get the skin first: under a rug they feel protected also, which is sorta like lifting up a rock and finding a goldmine full of bugs.
