Literary Devices
In this lovely little thread that I created to somehow get the guild literate.
I'd like to focus mostly on Themes throughout Tolkien's books and symbolism, but any literary device is accepted.
So basically, in this thread you post a passage or some type of referance and explain what literary device it is. The next person, can either elaborate or disagree with the device or they can point out a new passage. If you feel like it, you can get into literary techniques and analyzing.
Guys, please make sure you site your quote so that: A. It isn't plagarism B. We know what the hell you are talking about.
I'll put in specific examples later if you really need it. Is that any better Nimby?

a) Your first sentence is a sentence fragment. It makes no sense on its own.
b) It's "cite", not "site".
c) What do you expect people to post? A little more structure and definition to your first post would be a good idea. An example or two might help as well.
