This took crazy long to do. It's Romeo and Juliet, supposed to look Alphonse Mucha-esque. Don't know who Mucha is? Look him up. You won't regret it. Anyway, I left it black and white for now so that others could color it if they wished.

I know the bushes and willow tree look like a**. I fail at foliage.

I agree with Nelesia. I love the detail in the scene, and hope to see it colored at some point. Great job! wink

the details are lovely, especially on the woman, but i think mucha had a bit more of silky and flowing lines in his style.. outlining style does resemble his i suppose~

good work anyways^^

Mucha also had the benefit of better materials and bigger works. I had an area of 8.5 x 11 and a big pen.... xp

This is nice. I like the detail and time you put in to this.

I would like to see it in color.. though I would much rather see it painted. I think it would look wrather good painted. I think there are programs that simulate the painting like feel and look. Like Painter i think does.. I dont much know my way around painter tho.

This would be awesome to see compleatly finnished.. (as in colored"

Juliet's upper body was drawn using a photo reference. The model was a stock image on devart. I saw her and thought, "That's just too perfect for a Romeo and Juliet." So really, it's not that I had to use the photo reference, it's that I was paying homage to a real pretty lady. In the original photo, though, she is sitting down like she's picking something off the ground. The model actually really like the drawing... biggrin

Well, Mucha's style is a bit more realistic in the face than yours I think, but I do see what you mean. I think when you do another in colour, it will show through even more. Good composition, and the trees are fine, by the way. The true "test" of your foliage rendering abilities will come with the colour. Right now, the outlines are fine.

Looking forward to your next,
Keene
