Well, I'm back and I got a new trick. It's been over a year since I last posted anything here in this guild and I can say that I'm ten times as slick as the last time I've posted anything. I've recently bought some PrismaColor Markers, but to be on the safe side, I only stuck with a couple of grayscale so I could get used to it; this is the result of my labors of about 40 minutes of drawing and about half an hour of coloring. I hope to see more in the future. I mean, I hope to post more. Yeah.

Aww..that's cute!
I like the simplistic style you chose. It brings the charm of this picture out quite effectively.
The first thing I noticed, though, is the head is way too big in proportion to her very small shoulders. Also, I believe the right breast ( left in the picture) is a bit too low.
Also, the right arm ( also left in the picture), is quite thin in comparison with the left arm, and the upper portion of anatomy is a bit off as well. In addition to that, the arms are too long because they reach toward her knees. Remember! Elbow bends at waist!
I also seem to see a line coming down from her neck. I'm assuming this is because you wanted to emphasize her turning head. However, this line would only exist if there were some opposite force acting on the neck ( I.e, her arm raising). Adding her collarbones would have been a much better choice, because the slant of them with her position would have pulled off the same effect, without being incorrect.
Overall, it's cute! The marker shading is neat. I thought it was an ink wash XD. You obviously know how to use your markers..so just work on anatomy!

This was just an expirement. I honestly have my anatomy down, but I wanted to try drawing without a frame, and this is the result. The eyes, the body frame, and everything about it is completely different from my normal style.
The head is large, the shoulders are screwed-up, the chest is a tad malformed... I realized all of this when drawing the picture.
Elbows do NOT bend at the waist, they bend slightly above the belly button, and I know that the head is large for what the picture is showing. Originally I had the collarbones in place, but I accidentally erased it before noticing that I didn't ink it.
I removed a lot of detail that I originally had on her clothing simply because I needed to practice such, to make look more like an animation production cel rather than a Print.
Whatever the case, I like her new look a lot better than her previous and I'm going to be keeping her new design.

lol I disagree with garkudion-- I think the upper atanomy is actually fine (except for a little largeness in the head, but that's kind of expected) and you did a cute job with her face and upper body too.
The only think that urks me is her left leg-- the calf muscle comes waaaaaaay sooner than that so the curve is a little wrong... (jabs pencil there) argh~! You can't change it either, since it's a colored and inked pic, but I just wanted to point it out...

An excellent picture, despite the minor errors the people before me have pointed out.
Just a question, are PrismaColor markers any good? I've been looking for markers to color drawings in, but I can't seem to find a good brand.

Go to any Art store and you'll find something of use. They're on the same level of quality as COPIC markers, if that says anything. It's all a matter of preference. I've only used grayscale; but as I've seen, this kind, alcohol-based, works very well. Just remember that it's very expensive. About $3.50 per marker so choose wisely!

I was just wondering if it's just as good as COPIC markers. I've used COPIC before, and once you go there, you can never go back... PrismaColor seems to be expensive in general. $1+ for just one colored pencil. It's crazy

You must be thinking that I meant the hip..you know..where you pull your pants up to? Or the place that bends when you touch your toes. The waist is the bend in the midsection...or..the "middle of the hourglass" in women. Here's a diagram: Either way, the arms are too long on your drawing, and I stand by all of my critique before. If you wanted a further critique, then you should have stated all that you felt you drew incorrectly in your original post.
