That's easy! First go to that one desert place.
1. Remember what Grudy said about the catuses? Well, there are 2 of them. On the left is the one you cast thunder on.
2. Then, hug on (run with) the left wall for awhile, turning wherever it turns. Then, you'll see this abandoned tent. Cast gravity on it and continue on that wall.
3. Later, you'll see the examine icon, pointing to a mushroom-like rock. Cast fire on it.
4. Then, go back to the cactuses. Go a bit down and cast blizzard on the 3 rocks in this order: small, medium, large
5. Go south and later, you'll see this flower. Cast holy on it (what I've read from the walkthrough, life works fine too!) At that place should be the unknown element! YAY! YOU DID IT!!! =D

Looks like you beat me to the post. I was going to say something like that but I didn't know about life also working on the flower.
