My Love, My Life, My Murder (poem)

[cursed imp]

I asked her not to turn away
and she believed my innocence
enough to stay her heart
another day
and sadly, I find myself believing
that her warmth might be here to stay
and I press onward
praying for her safety

but in my heart I know
of the coming genocide

I pressed my lips to her hand
as I devised new disasters
the taste of their blood
reminds me I'm already gone
and I convince her to stay
as the tides begin to rise
and she slowly drowns
in the blood of the fallen

and in my heart I know
of the coming genocide

and in the final hours
before the day is done
their hearts are filled
with this unmistakable tune
and its' echo will remain for generations
for not only flesh is scarred
as judgment is passed
on the growing minority

and in our banquet halls
we toast to genocide
