Question about Conch piercings...

On saturday, I may be getting a conch piercing on my left ear 3nodding

So I was wondering, what's better jewellery for a conch, ring or labret/barbell?
I have longish hair which may get tangled in a bar, and I like the look of rings but I tend to get minor hypertrophic scarring for a while from them (the ones on my double helix are more or less gone now after a month or so ish).

Any help greatly appreciated smile

I've always had a ring in mine, as long as you clean it properly and you use quality jewlery I don't think you will have any problems. The main problem I have with mine is when I'm coming my hair in a rush some times I snag it but yeah no real damage.

I have my right conch pierced.

It's a 14g and I only wear a hoop.

The bars bug me...

Well, I actually think the bar will heal better, as long as you make sure to keep your hair tied up and out of the way, the straight surface will cause a bit less pressure than a curved one, but both are doable. Also, the bar will move less, again, redusing the pressure on the hole. I had a 2.4m"m barber for a couple years, have a 6m"m plug now in each, so that's a bit different..

Well, I got my conch pierced today, with a 1.6mm labret stud smile

It was so painless! My piercer was suprised xd I can't feel it, and haven't really been able to at all since it's been done.

My healing process was HORRIBLE.

By far my most painful (not the piercing process, that didn't hurt at all, but the after-care).
