I'm in two major art classes at my high school, and we need to get a sketch done every week and at least fifteen done for the end of each quarter, the only problem I have is I can never think of things to sketch! After drawing so much in your house and of things around you, it's so easy to be lacking on ideas! Can anyone think of something that I can make a direct observation sketch of? Any ideas are welcom, bring them coming!

If you want a challenge, go for a glass surface and kick it up a knotch if you want by adding water inside a glass bottle. The distortions in glass are hella tough, or rather time consuming, to render. Or you could go for sketching a metallic surface to work out how its shininess will appear. Or you could go find some object with texture on it, like a plushy and try to bring that out.
I say, focus on what type of things you think you need to improve on. Yeah.... Good luck.

when I was in highschool my art instructor pushed me into sketching a paper bag that was a little crumpled, you can draw your faucet from the kitchen or bathroom, even a bike, there are so many items in this world a person can sketch, try not to limit your self with items only found in the house though go out and explore.

I did a sketch, but I want to do one sketch that i'll never accomplish...I think you can do it! Sketch a rose, in a vase, but then add water and maybe kick it up a notch with rain? Yeah, kind of far out but yeah. I can't draw water drops...

Try sketching cool pictures online. If that doesn't work, find wierd things like toys or something.

go to a coffee shop or a bookstore and sketch people reading... or even on the bus.

It's an awsome site and there are endless pictures and works of art that always get my gears turning... xd
