Chinese punk music

Hej,

I once heard about punk music from Beijing. There was even a movie about it here in Germany (I think made by some German). I love China and I love Punk. I also love different music, but right now I want Punk, or other more wild & heavy stuff. Most of the music I saw of China where some boybands and other kitschy stuff I am really not into.

So, could someone give me some hints, please?

I didn't see it yet, tough. I think I read someone from here lives in London... they play in London on 8th June (Dirty Water Club) ... I already missed the dates in Germany :/

if you visit the website I posted earlier, click on "Trailer", there are some small videos - that's all I know so far, and that there is a punk scene in Beijing (One of the causes that made me choose to go to Beijing for a year).

I don't know more, that's why I ask you Chinese ^^ But it seems that it's not too popular yet.

just watch the trailers on http://www.beijing-bubbles.com ! It's somewhere between punk and indy.

And I know, that there are Punks in Beijing. It seems a bit more "soft" than british punk. And if you are used to punk like "Green Day" "Blink 182" - that's quite different. But I like what I hear.

Green Day and Blink are what many people call commercial punk. As in they've veered away from their original rebellious punk roots and now make songs that are tailored to the tastes of the majority. Or something. Not completely sure but that's the view I get.
Another reason they're called commercial is cos they've become commercialised. Sounds dumb, but it's a legitimate reason. Becoming commercialised probably has something to do with signing onto a mainstream recording company, censoring lyrics, making flashy expensive music videos etc, what the hardcore punks would call 'selling out'.
