I put a 8 in my 10 gauge ear... it hurt bad, it was so hard to get it to go through the back of my ear. It was bleeding bad but now I think its pretty much in there.

ANY stretching to a larger gauge, should be just that STRETCHING... not tearing! There should be no blood while doing any stretching... ever. Your ear will end up looking like a cat's but a.k.a a "blowout".
