I needed to share the pain. I don't expect you to understand the fandom. But I came to you because of THE PAIN! eek I AM DYING INSIDE! What the crap!?!?

It's even more ridiculous because it's SciFi. And it has to do with other worlds and other galaxies and stuff. ........JESUS DOES NOT GO TO OTHER GALAXIES!!!!111!!1!!!11!one!!1!111!! scream scream scream

And let's not forget the fact that Stargate frequently and unabashedly dabbles into anti-religious themes. A lot. Enough that it significantly pushed me down the road of atheism.

Oh, yeah... and the people on the Atlantis expedition are the "best and the brightest," which means the vast majority of them don't believe in jack s**t... so "a quarter of the population" vanishing would be a rather extreme estimate. Psh.

To make things worse, there's also a companion fic for the original Stargate series.

I didn't even touch the fics... I just read the reviews. gonk

It was intended to be indirectly striking at atheism and agnosticism. All of the atheist characters (Except possibly one or two after converting, though I haven't read it) are going to be given an attitude like that.
