After an encounter with Scott leaves Mason heavily injured and on his way to the hospital, he deduces where the actor might be headed and tasks his cat Pitch with reaching a nearby site where a movie is being filmed, one from which Scott got fired and replaced by Grant. On the way, Pitch morphs his shadow into a replica of Mason.
