I have had a surgery to remove all 4 of my wisdom teeth, and I am in a lot of pain and horribly sleepy.
The doc gave me pain pills, but they don't work the way they are supposed to. I'm only supposed to take them every 4 hours, and they don't last that long. I have been taking a bit of ibuprophin with it as well, because the Lortab he gave me is not ani-inflammatory, and I am defeinitely swollen.
I don't have to wear the gause anymore, but it still hurts like hell to talk.
They had to crack the bottom-left tooth into pieces to get it out because it was embedded into my bone so deeply, and it literally feels like my jaw is broken right there. I've been trying to keep my mouth closed as much as possible when I talk.
I am already on a "soft foods and liquid diet", so I don't have to worry about chewing hurting at all. I've been eating a lot of cottage cheese, pudding, drinking V-8 and green tea and stuff. And, since my sis works at Jamba Juice, she's been bringing me those, because it's basically perfect for my "no-chew" diet. I've been either drinking them straight from the cup or using a spoon to "eat" them. I'm not allowed to use a straw for anything, or I can get this thing called "dry socket" When they pull your teeth, the blood pools in the holes that the teeth used to be in. It scabs up, and then over time just turns into bone. If I use a straw, or chew, or if I mess with the hole where the tooth was with my tongue, it can make the blot clot there come out, and then the doc says it will increase both the pain and the healing time a lot. Which, I really don't want to happen, of course, because I'm already hurting so much.
The only good thing is, basically, that the tooth that was killing me doesn't hurt as much as I thoght it would. I mean, I am hurting more now than I was before the surgery, but I was afraid the impacted and infected tooth would actually hurt me more than the others during recovery, but it turns out that one was putting so much pressure on the inside of my mouth and had scarred up my gums so much, it actually feels a bit better because that pressure is now gone and the gums aren't constantly being torn apart by the tooth poking through.
I do want to mention that there were no "complications" - the surgery went well, for the most part. I was real groggy for about 20 minutes and the car ride home, but soon after that I was alert and everything.
If anyone is religious, please say a prayer for me that I get better soon and recover well. Thanks in advance!!!
PS: I would love get well presents of any kind...
If any of you'd like to see me quest thread, here is the link.

Ohh, or if anyone wants to send me a "get well soon" avi art, here's my dreams (Please include mochi in any and all avi art!)
You can also make my hair black and curly - I got lazy and put the same hairstyle on all of them. I also like the elemental hair leaves one a lot, the one with the little butterflies with it.
My favorite colors are purple, blue, silver, teal and black
Thank you in advance for anyone making me art!! heart

I hope you and your gums feel better. It's odd that you can't use a straw -it's the first thing I thought of using when reading about your pulled teeth. :/ ..pudding is the best. And, I always expect there to be chunks of tomato in V8, but there isn't -they should come out with that. 3nodding
