"So she hasn't been given a name, after all these years?" "The mother said that only the father would name her." "So, what will happen to her? If she doesn't have a name, how will she find a home, or even a place in the world?" "We still don't know." "You should give her a name anyways." "I think we should honor the lady's wish." "You're an idiot, the poor girl needs to know she belongs." "Why you!" The small girl at the door listened sadly to the two voices arguing outside her door, in the hall of the orphanage. She had known that she had never been called anything, just "Chibi" She had thought that was her name, but she had heard others called it. It meant "Runt" She was rather small and thin, the name didn't insult her. But she wished she had a real name. She knew that her mother had died in child birth, but she had never known that her mother had said that the girl's father would name her. It hurt, thinking about how he had not come for her. "So what do you propose we call her, then?" "I gave her a name in my head a long time ago. It suits her." "So, what is it?"
"Sorrow!" The teenage girl jerked her head up and smiled at the boy in front of her. He handed her a soda and leaned against the wall she was sitting at. She opened it facing him, but the soda didn't go off. he laughed at her and gulped at his own soda. She shrugged and sipped hers. She looked out at the wild cherry trees, remembering when she had seen them first bloom, when she was about ten. Six years ago. When she had seen them she had thought that heaven had come. The fragrance in the air was soothing, the petals were beautiful. She had joined in other childrens' songs of joy and love. She looked up at the boy, he was about her age, maybe a little older. "Hey, Daniel?" "Hmm?" "Do you think that you'll ever see your mother again?" He looked startled, then laughed nonchalantly. "Of course I will. I've only been here for three years. She said she'd be back before I turned eighteen. It's not like she doesn't ca- I mean it's not like anything horrible is going to happen to her." Sorrow knew that he had meant to say "doesn't care." But that he had caught himself and stopped in order to not hurt her feelings. She was grateful for his concern and care for her feelings, but she had already resigned herself to the fact that her father wasn't coming for her. She had gotten her name when she was nine years old, only seven years ago. She was still thin and pale, but she was about Dan's hight. They could no longer call her "Chibi" She thought with a smile and tossed her waist length, pinkish-purple hair over her shoulder. "So, d'you think I could come with you when you leave?" She asked innocently. "I bet my Mum wouldn't mind! That would be great!" She smiled at his energetic reply and stood up. Her soda was all gone, she realized with annoyance. She must have been sipping it all this time, not even noticing. Dan laughed at her expression. "C'mon, I'll buy ya another one." He said and led her towards the village below the orphange. Before they got far, however, another couple of kids from their age group came running up breathlessly. "Hey, Sorrow?! The Matron sent me down to fetch you. Just about a half hour ago a" The boy's twin sister finished his sentance. "Man came up to the orphanage and had a long talk with the Matron and the Head. Then the Matron came out and told us to fetch you. They're in the Parlor in the Main Building" Sorrow dropped her soda can and dashed towards the orphanage gates. She burst into the Main Building and located the Parlor quickly. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. The Head, a stern, but motherly woman opened the door. "Ah, my dear. Thank you for coming. Come on in." Sorrow entered the Parlor, trembling from head to toe.
If you think this is good, tell me and I'll continue. I need ten people to tell me this is a good idea. I hope people like it!
When she embraces you Your heart turns to stone She comes at night When your all alone And when she whispers Your blood shall run cold You'd better hide before she finds you
Whenever she is raging, she takes all life away
