The Story of Isaak
Chapter 1 of ?
by NaeNaeChan, aka Sputz, aka SpringTimeFox, aka Movie Nazi

Isaak stood next to Rose’s locker. “What’re you doing after school?” he asked.
“I don’t know. My parents wanted me home by four,” Rose said, putting her books in her locker and pulling out her biology book.
“Come on! I had a whole afternoon planned out today! That movie comes out today, that romantic one you wanted to go see,” Isaak complained.
Rose closed her locker and walked past Isaak, rolling her eyes. “Why don’t you come over for dinner? I’m sure they wouldn’t mind.”
Isaak put a hand through his black hair and followed after Rose. “Well, I’m not sure, Rose-baby. They didn’t seem to like me that much last time.”
Rose hit him gently on the arm. “That’s because last time you tracked mud through the house and my mother had to spend three hours on her hands and knees cleaning the carpet.”
“Rose, baby, that was because she wouldn’t let me do it for her!” Isaak protested, sliding an arm around Rose’s waist.
“That was because you wanted to remove the carpet.”
“Yes, but replace it.”
“With plywood,” Rose reminded him.
“Well, it would be easier to clean,” Isaak mumbled.
Rose shook her head. “That wasn’t the point.”
Isaak gave Rose a kiss and dropped her off at the biology room. He himself continued to the cafeteria. Halfway there a fist came out of nowhere to connect with his back, between his shoulders. He staggered forward and spun around to see a smiling buffoon of a seventeen-year-old, slim, muscular, and tall with dirty blonde hair.
“Isaak! Long time no see! What have you been doing?”
“Hello, Devante.”
“Hey, Alexia asked me to ask you if you were still going out with Rose,” the seventeen-year-old said.
“Tell that b***h to leave me alone. And why haven’t you been at school lately?”
“Suspension. They have no idea I’m here. But, to the point, I came to see if the rumors were true,” Devante said with a knowing smile.
“Rumors? What rumors?” Isaak demanded.
“Well, it seems you have slept with Katrina and Rose has slept with me,” Devante said with a shrug as they walked down the hall.
“For one, Katrina is ugly. For two, if you slept with my girl—“ Isaak said with a warning glare.
Devante smiled and ducked a half-hearted punch. “Nah, rumor says she raped me. Tied me up to the bed and—“
“Gah, I don’t want to hear any more, Dev, for God’s sake. Do you have any idea what rumors fly around about you?”
Devante nodded solemnly. “That I’m gay.”
“Yeah. That doesn’t bother you?”
“Why should it? I screw a woman at least three times a week. I’m straight. They just want a rise out of me anyway.”
“Well, as a word of advice from friend to friend, go get yourself a girl. Even if it is a hooker.”
“Sure. But that’s not why I snuck into school today. I came to tell you to watch your back. Katsuya, you remember that guy who had a problem with Rose? Well, he’s back at it because he heard about your sex scandal with his sister.”
“Its wasn’t a sex scandal!” Isaak snapped.
“I know that, but Katsuya doesn’t.”
“That stupid kid couldn’t tell a brick from a pillow,” Isaak said.
“You might want to keep that down,” Devante said, pointing to a girl, Alexia, who was standing in the cafeteria doors. “Katsuya’s precious puppy is right there.”
“s**t. That stupid whore…” Isaak sighed in frustration.
“Are you and Rose doing anything after school?”
Isaak shook his head and smiled. “No, not if I have to go to her parent’s house. They think I’m an awful kid.”
“Not far from the truth there, are they?”
Isaak punched Devante in the arm and walked into the cafeteria before the seventeen-year-old could do anything about it. Alexia pounced on him right away, like some rabid fangirl at a Backstreet Boy’s concert before they went out of style.
“Isaak! I’ve been waiting for you to get to study hall! Do you want to go to a movie after school?”
Isaak looked at her coolly, regarding her as nothing more than a bug. “No, not really.”
“Are you still dating that Rose girl?” Alexia asked with a sneer.
“Yeah, what of it?”
“Drop her. She’s just a b***h anyway. And besides, I’m much prettier than her,” Alexia said, batting her eyelashes and playing with her hair.
“Shut up about her,” Isaak warned, walking past. “Compared to you, she’s a goddess.”
“Maybe I should have Katsuya do something about that quality, then,” Alexia said with a shrug.
Isaak turned around and looked at the fat blob in front of him. “If you even think of touching her, I will personally break every one of your fingers.”
Alexia looked unsure for a moment, then a dark smile crossed her features. “I guess, Isaak,” she said.
Isaak turned and walked away. He had to admit that, even though Alexis was ugly beyond even the ugliest creatures on earth, the way she said his name gave him shivers of the good kind for all the wrong reasons. He forced his thoughts to Rose and the way her hips moved when she walked, the way her boobs happened to bounce just a little…
The hour went by uneventfully, with Isaak growing more and more nervous. He didn’t know why. The most he would be doing that night was sitting in his bedroom smoking and watching TV. When the bell rang, Isaak stood outside the bio room to escort Rose to her locker. After the locker, Isaak walked her to the car, exchanged a rather public display of affection with the love-object of his short life, and started walking home. As soon as he walked in the door he was jumped by a stray cat he had let in the day before and the phone rang. When he picked it up, he heard a voice yell, “Get off of my bed!”
“Hey, Devante,” Isaak said into the phone, dislodging the cat from his pant leg.
“My dad said it was okay for you to come over. His girlfriend’s son is here, though.”
“I’ll bring the catnip,” Isaak said with a smile.
“He needs Ritalin, not catnip. So see you in ten?”
“If I run, yeah. Make it a half hour. Have mac-and-cheese ready when I get there. I’m starving,” Isaak said, hanging up the phone.
He wrote a note to (whatever family he has) and walked out the door, kicking the ancient Oldsmobile in the driveway. It had broken down two weeks prior and since then Isaak had been walking everywhere, even to Devante’s, which was a half-hour walk. Isaak would have gotten the car fixed, but he didn’t have the money.
To get to Devante’s place, Isaak had to walk across town, under the bridge. That also meant going through Katsuya’s territory. Kats liked to think he had a gang. What he called a gang was little more than a group of high school dropouts that saw it fit to attack people younger, smaller, and smarter than them.
Isaak was walking under the bridge when it happened, but he couldn’t stop it. His hands were seized by some unknown force and he was shoved to the ground. He grunted in pain and kicked at the unseen force holding him to the ground, but two other forces grabbed his ankles. By that time he knew he had run into Katsuya’s little gang. Someone pressed his face into the gravel, causing more than a few cuts.
“Isaak Makaza,” a smooth voice cooed, as if over a loved one.
“What the ******** do you want, Katsuya?” Isaak asked, lifting his head despite the hand pushing it down. “If I remember correctly, last time we met I gave you a bloody nose.”
“Among other things,” Katsuya said with a cruel smile. “But numbers are on my side now, and I plan on using them to my advantage.”
“Let me go before you get yourself into a debt you cant afford,” Isaak snapped.
“Tough talk for someone being held down by three men.”
“Tough talk for someone who needs three men to hold me down.”
“Hmm, I see. Well, we won’t have to do anything to you if you agree to go out with Alexia. That means dropping Rose. Will you agree to our terms?”
“******** that,” Isaak said, disbelief on his bloodied face.
“Well, there’s no arguing with him, boys. Alexia said not to hurt you, Isaak,” Katsuya spat. “But you didn’t agree to our terms. And I hear from reliable sources that you have had sex with my sister.”
“Everyone else had a ride, I figured I should get one too,” Isaak said, spitting on the ground.
This caused the man holding Isaak’s hands to twist his wrist painfully while pressing his face into the gravel again.
“Isaak, how dare you say something like that about my dear, beloved sister?” Katsuya shook his head and “tsk-tsked.”
“I have a lot more where that came from,” Isaak snapped into the gravel.
Katsuya came closer. His boots crunched into the gravel. “What was that, Isaak dear? You say you won’t comply? Well, we know what that means, don’t we?”
The three men holding Isaak down got off of him, though one of them didn’t move fast enough. Isaak took him down with a simple kick and grabbed the guy. He fished in his pocket for his knife, pulled it out, and put it to the man’s neck.
“Don’t move,” Isaak warned.
“No, Isaak, I think it is you who shouldn’t move,” Katsuya said with a smile.
Isaak had no time to ponder this strange reply. One of the men he had forgotten about had grabbed his hair and pulled back. In surprise, Isaak dropped the knife, barely grazing the man’s neck. Isaak was pulled back by his hair and he landed on his back. A particularly sharp rock cut into his back and he could feel warm blood trickle down his spine. The man he had held hostage stood over him with a nasty grin on his face. Isaak rolled out of the man’s shadow and jumped to his feet. Four on one was nothing.
Then it became six on one. That was something.
Isaak tried to fend off Katsuya’s henchmen, but the five of them managed to grab his arms and hold him in one spot. Katsuya walked over to him, a malicious glint in his eyes.
“Isaak, dear, I always win,” he said in a seductive voice.
Isaak spit in his face. (“What are you, a llama?” luv Dev)
Katsuya grabbed Isaak’s chin. “Tough guy, eh? We’ll see about that.”
Katsuya kissed Isaak. Kissed him so hard and so suddenly that Isaak couldn’t move. When Katsuya slid a hand up Isaak’s shirt and teased his n****e, the eighteen-year-old regained his senses and head-butted his molester. Katsuya staggered back, holding his head.
“Damn you!” he snarled.
Isaak spit on the ground, trying to get the taste of Katsuya out of his mouth. “What the ******** is wrong with you?”
Katsuya rubbed his forehead. “Boys,” he said in a level voice. “I expect you know what to do?”
Isaak had no idea what happened. One second he was wearing pants, the next second he was stark naked from the waist down in the middle of March. He looked at Katsuya, fear and disgust in his eyes. “You’re a sick b*****d,” he growled.
“Ah, and you’re a particularly beautiful one,” Katsuya said with a grin, taking Isaak in his mouth.
“Katsuya! Damnit!” Isaak snapped, attempting to kick the twenty-year-old that was currently trying to please him. He was stopped when his legs were grabbed and held in one spot by two men.
Isaak struggled to break free because, as much as it was revolting, he couldn’t help but be aroused. In minutes he was on the ground, being raped. Raped. Isaak Makaza was being raped by a second-rate gangster. The thought was enough to make Isaak throw up what little he had for lunch that day, even as four of Katsuya’s men held him down and Katsuya shoved into him like a CD player that had been jammed. When Katsuya came and Isaak was of no more use, the twenty-year-old kicked him in the gut and let his men have their own way with him.
By the time that was over(and it must have seemed like hell to poor Isaak) Isaak lay on the ground, breathing shallowly. A man who had not taken part in the beating or raping of Isaak stepped forward.
“Kats, you sure you didn’t go too far?” He don’t look so good.”
“Its fine. Going too far would have killed him. This is going just far enough.”
“But what was the point?” the man asked.
“Point? Does gang violence have to have a point?” (there was sposed t’be a point? o.O)
Another man stood up from pulling on Isaak’s hair. “Let’s go, boss. Before someone shows up at the wrong moment.”
Katsuya surveyed his work. “Yeah. We should.”
The want-to-be gang leader turned and disappeared into the shadows, followed by four of his subordinates. The last one looked at Isaak, took off his own coat, and laid it over Isaak’s still form with all the love and care an awkward teen could muster.
“s**t, Katsuya’s crazy,” the boy said with a shake of his head.
“Reno! What the ******** are you doing back there? You missed your chance, lets go!”
The boy gave Isaak a last glance and followed his gang.
Isaak lay on the ground, bleeding from numerous cuts and bruises, shivering in the cold March air. God, someone come by, someone see this poor, pathetic form on the ground. Anyone at all, Rose, Devante, Alexia… Anyone at all…
Isaak drifted into a fitful sleep. A sleep one comes by only in trauma, only when every ounce of strength is gone in one’s body. In that state, Isaak heard his name being called. It was a brassy voice, boisterous and loud… it sounded like… like… Devante? Isaak tried to listen to the voice, but it was over masked by a frantic flute of a voice, calling his name like her life depended on it.
“Rose…?” Isaak asked hoarsely.
“Isaak? Where are you? Can you hear me?”
Isaak moved his head slightly, looking into the darkness. “Rose…” A figure walked alone down the path that Isaak would have taken to Devante’s house. Her hips moved in a lovely rhythm… It was Rose. Rose had come to find him.
“Isaak? Come on, answer me!” she called.
Isaak coughed, cleared his throat, and whispered through a dry mouth, ““Rose, baby, help me…”
Rose turned her gaze to the shadows and gasped. “Oh, my god, Isaak!”
The next thing Isaak knew he was in the comforting, warm grasp of Rose, the love-object of his life. He could have melted into her, had it not been so damn cold.
“Isaak! Oh, I was so worried about you, I thought you were dead!” Rose started to cry, her tears spilling down her cheeks and into Isaak’s hair. “Devante, I found him!” she called.
Moments later the wonder-idiot came into the picture. He took off his jacket and wrapped it around Isaak’s shoulders. He looked at Rose, then to Isaak.
“I’ll get the car,” he said. (“Why do you always get the car?”luv evelyn)
Rose cradled Isaak to herself until Devante managed to get the car below the bridge. They got Isaak in the car and sat there.
“What the ******** do we do now?” Devante asked.
“We could go to the hospital,” Rose said.
Isaak grasped Rose’s hand weakly. “No hospitals,” he whispered.
Devante frowned. “Isaak, you were just beat up and you look like s**t. We’re taking you to the hospital. And just where the ******** are your clothes?”
“Somewhere…”
Devante got out of the car with an exasperated look on his face. “Stupid Isaak, losing his clothes in stupid places…” he trailed off. He had just put two and two together. Sure, you beat people; sure you could beat them naked. But Katsuya had other techniques that were worse than beatings. Rapes. And rumor had it that Katsuya liked it.
Devante found a pile of Isaak’s clothes on the ground not far from a large blood-spot. He returned to the car with a solemn look on his face.
“Katsuya beat you, didn’t he?” Devante asked.
Isaak nodded.
“He raped you too.”
Isaak took a deep breath, sinking lower into Rose’s lap. “How would you know?” he asked angrily.
Rose had her hand over her mouth. “Oh, Isaak, say it’s not true,” she said softly.
“He jumped me. He had three… no… five men… it took five men just to hold me, Devante. Five.”
“I hope you gave that ******** what was coming,” Devante said.
“No… I couldn’t. I was helpless…” Isaak stopped, glared at Devante, and closed his eyes.
“We’re going to the hospital,” Devante said, starting the car.
“******** that.”
“No, Devante. We can go back to my place,” Rose said before Devante could protest.
“Its not life threatening anyway,” Isaak said sourly.
Devante drove in silence to Rose’s house. In the driveway, he handed Rose Isaak’s clothes. He looked in the car to where Isaak was sitting, looking uncomfortable.
“You need help?” Devante asked.
“No, a*****e, get out of my sight.”
“Alright, then,” Devante said, leaning in the car to pick Isaak up. The teen protested loudly before being convinced by Rose that it was better this way. Devante carried Isaak(who was heavy as a rock) up the stairs into Rose’s bedroom. He sat Isaak on the bed and looked down at his bloody shirt.
“You’re lucky I’m not wearing white,” Devante said.
“You’re the a*****e that carried me. Now get out of my sight so I can lick my wounds.”
“Alright, but don’t go licking your a** because I’ll have to call you a dog,” Devante said, staring at Isaak seriously.
“Leave, now.”
“Devante took a deep breath and nodded. “Alright then. I’ll see you later.” He walked out the door, stopped, and turned back. “I’m going to kill Katsuya for you. It’s a birthday present, a little early.”
Isaak scowled. “I’ll take care of him. Don’t touch him.”
“Sure thing, boss.”
Devante disappeared and in his place stood Rose. She was dressed in her pajamas, ready for bed. Isaak closed his eyes and lay down on the bed, not bothering with the sheets.
“Your parents won’t mind?” he asked.
“No. And if they do they can take it up with me. I’m not going to leave you alone out there at your place, or even Devante’s,” Rose said, lifting the covers off the queen-size bed and crawling under them. “At least get under the covers. You’ll sleep better.”
Isaak managed to get himself under the covers where he was immediately engulfed in a kiss from Rose. Her hands tangled in his hair, her warm body pressed against his, her lips pressed to his in comfort. It was a kiss that took his mind off of everything that happened that night, a kiss to remember. But it was only a kiss. Rose snuggled up to his chest and he put his arm over her waist. Nothing like a good nights sleep to get away from the horrors that real life held.
