The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
The Crucio effect
Thursday, July 12:

Warning: Those who are haters of the franchise, steer clear. Those of you who haven't seen the movie and/or read the book, please, avert your eyes. There may be some spoilers dribbled here and there.

Alright. I'm a Harry Potter fan. Yes, I can hear the lovely jeers and side remarks rising from the earth from that single statement of mine. Frankly, I wave it aside. I'm proud to be a Potter Head fan.

That doesn't mean I don't mind a few jokes here and there on his behalf. But! That aside! The movie came out, and the world has another chance to have their eyes bleed on the behalf of the massive overload of graphics and British slang being thrown back and forth in front of a primarily American audience. Still, I love every bit about this review. So, all you mystical fans and worshipers of Hippogriffs, Whomping Willows, cauldron conundrums and general Weasly hoohah, let's begin this lesson, shall we?

To start it off, I have been dreading this movie for the longest time. Why? Well, there's a thing that my friends (both in real life and on Gaia) know about me. I have a habit of, well... let me put it this way: Any character I like from any book, movie, game, etc ends up dead 96% of the time. There's a minor 1.5% or so where the characters are actually dead to BEGIN with. And how do I know this? Oh, trust me. I wrote up a list one summer evening way back with the name of every character I like, and I put if they were dead or not. My fan girl "Midas touch of Death" I suppose.

To those who have seen the movie or read the book knows Sirius Black ends up getting kicked off the Harry Potter show. In fact, I'm glad I saw his death scene in theaters due to the fact I couldn't tell how the heck he died in the book (I re-read the chapter countless times and couldn't imagine how he kicked if off). I love the character. Sympathetic, loyal... and he died.

But, that aside, I've got to say this was the BEST Harry Potter film to date! I'm excited that the director of this one will make the next one. The graphics, plot line, how smoothly each scene melted into each other was on the edge of sheer perfection! Tantalizing suspense and brutal fights, each spark and crackling flash from a wand jolted your very nerves.

Now, my advice is- if you're able to- see it in 3-D. I managed to see it in that, and trust me, it's well worth the extra buck or so. I did get a slight headache after the final 20 minutes with 3-D (the fight between Dumbledore and Voldermort nearly filled the entire theater with blue and red flashing), but I still would go back.

Is it worth it? YES. Truth be told, some things had to be cut out, I understand that. Something things can bother you that were cut out, but if you're a fan, see it.

Here's to another year a Hogwarts and avoiding a well aimed Crucio spell, cheers!

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart

P.S: Oh, and for those who are part of a "Whovian" family like I am... here's a funny tidbit that aired last night on a new episode. Enjoy the Potter influence: http://youtube.com/watch?v=_BvuPz_UwwM
