Am I a quitter?
Well, I quit the UGMF today. The reason, is because of this.

A few days ago, my general, FullMetal-sama, was assaisenated, by a VH soldier. We were having a funeral for Metal-sama, and this officer, beings making rude comments about Metal. Now, us three begin yelling at this person, for being so rude. It was going to far, guns were drawn out and such. I was yelling at them to stop, and it still wasn't working. Now, if some of you, have been reading my other journal enteries, and know me well, you'll know I've been through a lot lately. Now, I'm piled up over my head in work, and planning, and than, these people, who I've looked up to, and thought as role modles, were fighting. I respected them, for their good leadership, and calm/coolness in any situation. I just had enough of it soon. One shot the others foot, and they just wouldn't shut up. I couldn't take it anymore, and I quit. Now most of them, say that I shouldn't leave, and that everyone has there bad, and good days. That if it's to stressfull, just to lay down. But, it can't be fixed like that.....

I've quit the guild I love dearly, dose that make me a quitter?

    No, of course not.

A quitter defined in the Webster dictionary is "a person who gives up too easily and in an extreme fashion". So essentially you have two criteria to being a quitter, you give up too easily, and you do so in an extreme situation.

Let me give you a situation:

If that same thing happened, but instead you went a bit more extreme and quit Gaia, then you would be a quitter, as you're leaving a place where a lot of people (more people than you could imagine) rely on you. So obviously, you don't fulfill the "extreme" bit of a quitter, as you're still here with your own guilds, posting, constructing and pming people.

So let me ask you a question then, did you give up? I would say no, you didn't, what happened was that you were stunned at the unprofessionalism of the people you looked up to, even respected. You were fed up, with everything you had on your plate and left the guild. But even if you look at it like you did give up, you did not give up easily; you attemped to stop an indecent and disrespectful fight from taking place several times. So, in my books, and anyone else's who has a shred of decency in their entire body, you did not give up easily, therefore, that crosses out that other bit of "becoming a quitter".

What you do now is a choice, a choice which you can only make, but do not (AND I MEAN DO NOT!!!) put yourself down for something that any person would have done in the same situation.

    Hope that helps, Jinx. *Hugs*
