Thursday, August 1 and 2:

Last night was beautiful. I couldn't help but snicker, though, when I saw the moon. The moon was blood red where I lived. Ok, that's a bit creepy. But it's true: the moon was a shade of red that I haven't seen in a while. I suppose it could be due to pollutants or something like that.

Seeing the blood red moon reminded me of the song "Akai tsuki" and the fact that sinfully souled Prinnies, in the world of Disgaea (Dood!) ascend to their final resting place during a red moon. The whole of the moment was somewhat fitting. In nine days time I will ascend, pretty much, from being a teenager. I will no longer be 18 when Aug 11 comes around.

I hate my Birthdays. Besides nothing ever happening on them, I just generally become depressed and listless knowing that I will be aging another year. Yeah, I hear everyone screaming, "You're still young! Wait until you get to my age! Then you can complain!". Still, that doesn't make me feel any inch better knowing that I'm one step closer to becoming an adult, loosing my friends, charging into the dubious role that I will forever hold for the rest of my life...

I hate this time of year.

Now, as I sit here on the computer, I can't help but shudder at this sickening feeling. Oh, what could this looming sensation be? Ah! That's right! Tonight's the last night in my home state before I head up for a three day trip to Chicago. I'll be attending a wedding, and dealing with family up there that most likely don't even know I exist, or plain ol' ignore me.

I can't tell you how much I'm going to hate this... Although, a friend of mine, Allie, dropped off her Harry Potter book for me to borrow. That, and pocky and these adorable Japanese chocolate Koala snacks that I've enjoyed since I was a child. That'll cheer me up.

I'm planning to turn this "Vacation from Hell" into two writing projects. Hopefully that'll get my mind off of things...
