The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
Another page of my life penned
Sunday, October 07:

Friday's Season Finale of Dr. Who was worth the wait!!! Ooooh, chills up my spine with that ending! Now, now... I'll promise that's all I'll write on that since I don't want to bore any non-Whovians out there too much. You'll get enough of an earful of the eccentric Sci-fi show later on in this entry.

Anyway... So it's like this: thanks to my sickness my boss Julia has been kind enough to give me an entire week free and off from work. Well, if I want to come in Tuesday and Wednesday to help with the backlogged stock then, technically, I can work. Still, it's pretty nice that she's concerned for my well being. My sickness has really taken a toll on me and my physical strength has all but vanished on me.

So far... no news from the Catscan. As if I truly expected some sort of news by now! Still, I mean, it's kinda nerve wracking sitting here and wondering what is making me flicker in and out of being fantastically well and downright sick.

Dad got a new job. Way to go for him! It's an evening job, and the schedule varies from time to time. He's now working at Kroger in the produce area. Not bad, really. He likes it- and the people appreciate having someone older there. I suppose there are too many "young folks" there and they most likely waste the time away. This weekend was his first weekend off. Well, having the entire weekend off, I mean.

Last night about 10 or so mom called me into the kitchen for something. It seems, in an attempt to cheer me up and keep my worries off my health and what not, she found a show on the CET that she knew would grab my attention.

What it turned out to be was the old school Dr. Who. I mean, we're talking the corny sets and cheesy acting with totally fake aliens and robots being marched across the screen. Now, with that description, you're probably thinking, "Gee, I bet she hated it". WRONG! See, I got a kick out of it. Sublimely cheesy to say the least, but somehow it was so enjoyable and funny. You have to marvel and appreciate how much the series has gone through (191 or so episodes, 10 Doctors and a period of falling off the face of the earth).

Last night's episodes were The Sun Makers part 3 and 4 and featured the 4th generation Doctor (the one most noted by the UK- Tom Baker). After the two old school episodes-- and I have to laugh when I write this, because my friends know how much I love these buggers-- they aired a Dr. Who Confidential episode featuring the Daleks ("EXTERMINATE!!" wink .

I bet by now everyone reading this who hates Dr. Who or thinks it's stupid (*cough*half of my friends *cough*) are screaming right now. I'll stop my obsessive rants to save ya'll the pain. xd

Now that I have the rambling tidings of happiness down and out of the way, I have to say I'm throughly depressed- er, well, at least upset- to find out that a shop I go to often no longer specializes in the item I'm looking for. It's what some might consider a "geek" store. From Star Wars to Magic the Gathering, it's one that sells card games and D&D items (my kind of store, then), and I called up to ask if they had some Yu Gi Oh cards.

First off, Yottaquest is a wonderful store. Yeah, it sometimes has high prices. Yeah, it is a way out there and has a horrible place for parking out front. And, sure, I may seem out of place- me being a girl- as I stand in line purchasing a deck box for my newly comprised deck. Or... I wished it WAS comprised. That's the thing. I called up to ask for some cards and the cashier lamely replied, "Oh, sorry, we stopped selling that a while ago".

.... What? Wait, wait, excuse me? If I remember this correctly, Yu Gi Oh is still quite popular. That means you can still make money off of it. Not only this, but that place was flocked quite often by Yu Gi Oh players for card buying and what not. Sure, it might have been the same players coming to the same play offs held there, but still that meant you were getting customers.

Sure, I should consider that they might have other reasons not to sell it. In all fairness, they could have had business relation problems or what not with the card retailers themselves. Still, it baffles me.

Now I have to find another place to get my cards. Darn it.

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart
