The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
A hoard of loot
Wednesday, October 31:

Happy Halloween to all you goblins, ghouls, and general creepy go-getters. So, as it plays out Halloween this year proved to be just as exciting as the last. Once again I was given the chance to hit the streets and prowl the darkness, a handy pillowcase in hand, as Michael and I trudged from house to house in order to acquire the glorious hoard of candy.

My dad came with us, as usual. He likes to dress up as much as the next kid. In fact, he's a giant kid at heart. Once again he was the mysterious V (from V for Vendetta). I returned as Xigbar (from Kingdom Hearts II) and Michael was wonderful as the returning #8 Jenova Witness (from Final Fantasy VII).

We hit my Grandmother's street. That... wasn't a good idea. 60-70% of the houses were dimmed, refusing to hand out candy when people were clearly walking around inside the houses. That was a bit cruddy on their part, but I can't blame them. If they don't want to dole out sugary treats, that's their choice, I suppose.

Anyway, I digress. We had a blast! Our first major hit for the candy actually came from the Fuzz. We saw the cop slowly driving down the street, checking out the kids. In my strange idiosyncrasy to be overly friendly to everyone around me I waved at him, smiling and calling, "Happy Halloween"! He pulled over to the sidewalk and looked at us. Sure, he saw two older teens (18 and 19) but he grinned. "Want some candy?".

The fuzz ended up giving us heaping handfuls. Apparently he had a bag of candy next to him on the seat just in case he got to see any kids dressed up. Huh, who'd have thought that it would be fine to actually take candy from a stranger in a car as long as this exception applies: it's a cop.

It guess McGruff needs to work on his lessons a bit.

After our haul (or, rather, what we managed to glean from that almost deserted neighborhood) we returned to my Grandmother's. With dad snoozing in the chair, Michael and I cracked into our stash and traded off what we didn't much care for.

I wouldn't give up that night's memory for anything. It was great just to hang out, to have fun, to talk about random things that popped into our heads. Plus, trick-or-treating has always been a cherished part of my Halloween adoration. It's not for just getting free candy- it's for simply dressing up and seeing others enjoying themselves.

Oh, and on a funny note, dad scared the crap out of countless kiddies. They actually ran from him whenever they saw my 6 foot tall dad in a Guy Fawkes mask. One poor Mortal Kombat 5 year old started bawling the second he saw him. Inside I secretly giggled at how much he was scaring everyone- even adults.

Plus, the adults gave him free candy. Ka-ching!

Now I'm off to fill up my skull goblet with Hawaiian Punch. Shaun of the Dead, here I come!!!

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart

P.S: Friday Michael and I went to the official WEBN Haunted House. I need to write up that Journal entry...

lol, yup. rofl I mean, admit it. I'm so short that people think I'm 13 anyway. If that's the case, I'm able to pass as a kiddie begging for sugary treats. Heh heh. Glad to hear you went out too!!! Enjoy that candy, alright? What's your favorite kind? I go CRAZY for sweet tarts.
