The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
Defying the laws of Pokemon
Wednesday, November 7:

Well, if you read my last entry you know I'm playing Pokemon Pearl. Yeah, yeah, I can hear all those people chanting insults or leering at me just at the thought of some 19 year old playing it. Tough. I love it, still play it and- most of all- still INTEND to play it for years to come.

'Cuz, ya know, collecting those rascals can be addictive as heck.

Anyway, this entry is going to be short. Frankly, I can't believe it myself that this happened.

As all fans know, you get legendaries in each one sprinkled throughout with the main attempt to tantalize you and keep you wide awake into the early hours of the morning, eyes glazed over from the futile attempts of catching without using your handy dandy Masterball. For Pearl, my creature shoved upon my was the quite ugly piece of pink dinosaur sculpted monster known as Palkia. As you can tell, I don't like the guy much. Pink. I mean, come on. My friends know I HATE pink. A dinosaur? Rawr.

So, whilst I was talking to Michael on the phone tonight, I was fighting past the mini boss battles leading up to the super duper rare thing that everyone playing the game is forced to try to catch. When I got to him, I reminded Michael that I was going to do what I promised: to restart it several times, even after catching, to see if his natures change.

The battle started, and Michael had to get off. I decided to go through and catch him. For the heck of it, I wanted to see something funny. Using my first ball, a random Premier ball obtained from buying 10 normal (and quite useless to me now) Pokeballs from earlier in the stages of the game, I lobbed it at the offending pink menace.

Freeze flash to point things out. Here's a legendary, ok? Full health, check. Random ball that's not a Masterball? Check, got that too. Now, lob it at a fully strong monster that's level 47 going up against my level 47 Luxray. Any fan right now is screaming at how STUPID I am to do this. That, or how foolish I am for wasting a ball, wasting time, whatever.

Thing is... the hard core fans WOULD scream that if I hadn't had caught him.

I'll give you three chances to guess what the above statement means. Just so you know, the first two don't count.

I had caught Palkia. Full health. Premier ball. First try. Yeah. I feel good. Problem is I didn't save it. I caught sign of his nature (a horrible Docile, which is neutral and no good to my planning later on) and decided to go along with my promise to Michael and restart the whole thing to see if I can obtain a better nature. I want to see if it's not preplanned (the nature, that is) from the start of the game.

Fans are going to lob ME with Pokeballs now, just for that move, but who cares. I'm still laughing my dang arse off thinking that I managed to pull some insane stunt like that off.

I'm going to go celebrate my geek-move with hot cocoa now.

Oh, and yes. Your eyes aren't failing you. This was an entry dedicated to Pokemon. Funny world, huh?

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart
