The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
Teen Night- of Zombies and Guitar Hero
Saturday, November 17:

Last night was exhausting. I actually slept in somewhat late (for me, that's 8 o'clock) due to the amount of energy I must have expended last night.

So a series of things happened. I arrived early (earlier than usual) and through out the night I was pleased to see most of the regulars of Teen Night either returning from absences or simply coming back for another round. I was hearing that most of them weren't showing up, for one reason or another, and I was afraid that most of my friends wouldn't be there this time around!

Started off the night cracking out my Yu-Gi-Oh Beast deck (I have two decks, a Harpie and this new one. I added Harpie Queens to my Harpie deck, a whopping 1900 atk monster for 4 stars) that I had just made. It actually lasted a bit longer than I expected, so that's good news that I actually made something correct for once. Then again, Michael offered up some awesome cards and techniques for the deck that I wouldn't have ever thought of.

Super Smash Brother challenges as always. And, yet, I wonder why people think I'm good at that game! I suck, really. I mean, sure, I can hold my own, but I can never compare with Michael, Joe or Folf. Never!

At least I came in second after Michael in one of the rounds. That is, after getting killed in one single powerful kick. Still, I had fun. That game's addictive as crack.

Someone brought a Wii. Where there's a Wii, there's a way (to play)! The kids at Teen Night are surprisingly nice at letting you play their systems (at times; unless it's DDR players or something like that). Anyway, they brought the new Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and, my god, the graphics! Those gorgeous, simply divine graphics that can only come from the minds of Nintendo! Shooting and reloading with the Wii remote seems like it would take time getting used to. However, the new approach at the game (a walk through "House of Dead" feel about it) was refreshing.

I have only one problem with that game. During a boss battle with a overly large, tyrant of a worm hyped up on growth steroids, there was one main problem coming up. At times the monster would somehow "throw" cars and- from our amusement- heavy buses at your characters. First off, the thing has no arms or, really, any limbs. So, what, it flings these things like a bull with it's head or tail? Right.

Second, you had to BLAST the offending metal objects out of the air before it crashed down, crushing you and your Wii-mote ego. Yeah. Shooting them with a pistol. Makes a lot of sense. Makes MORE sense when the buses and cars in question blow up in midair in a puff of fiery smoke, and no hunks of debris hits you.

Can you say defying the laws of everything? Still, good looking (and quite promising) game. For Resident Evil fans? Yes. Pick a copy up. NOW.

Speaking of Resident Evil, towards the end of the night my friends and I ended up acting like B-movie zombies. Shaun of the Dead and 28 Weeks Later, I think, were the culprits of us starting it. That, and discussing who would die first of the group if Resident Evil existed and zombies roved the streets. It was unanimous. I'd be the first to go- whether from my inability to really protect myself or people pushing me in front of them as a sort of meat shield. xd God, I love my friends! I cracked up, laughing my a** off. You know why? I know it's true.

Finally, to end this, I have to brag a little. I love Guitar Hero. Thing is, I have a used copy of number one. I play, once in a blue moon, number two... and for number three? First time playing it last night. I have the ability to play any song, no matter if I've played it or not, at least on Medium mode: something I take somewhat pride in. Consider when you start a new song you've never played before. Most of the time you play Easy mode, right? Not me. I go straight into Medium, so I'm constantly used to how that version plays out.

I managed to do a face off against a pro at the game. He owns it, and he knows all the songs. I told him to pick one. He did, and I chose Medium whilst he picked Easy.

"Don't do that!"

I blinked. "Why not?"

"I said, just don't do it! I... well, you're going to die anyway."

Gee. Thanks, kid. stare So, we started. The song was wickedly fast. I actually enjoy those songs. The slower the song is, the harder it is for me. If I can't get into the beat and core of the song, it's useless to me. Anyway, halfway through the song I became vaguely away that my battling partner was getting a bit frustrated, and people started gathering. Of course, I'm so intent on what I'm doing that I'm not noticing anything.

When we finished, my partner was aghast. The crowd couldn't believe it. Here was a girl, never before playing GHIII or let alone that song, on Medium, facing a guy who owns the game and played that song fifty times over... here was a girl that had a score of 213 vs his measly 79.

I smoked him. burning_eyes

After that, I was actually being challenged. My friends who watched go a kick outta it. One guy, a pro like the other, went against me on one of the fastest, hardest bonus songs. Same level of difficulty (Medium). He's played the song before, I haven't.

I was only a couple of points away from him when we ended. We were neck-and-neck for most of the battle. Intense, it was great.

Apparently the kids there are saying I'm one of the better players there. Funny. I don't own the game....

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart

yeah i remember that. that was funny. you really did smoke the guy. probably to hell and back lol. but you did a full song. halfway through the one I was playing a cicuit broke (as you may know) and I get an automatic win (as you may know). i was quite suprised by that too. and he actually said I was good!!! i barely ever get to play that when I'm over at my friend's house. i guess I get into the rhythm of songs sometimes. just like with bell choir; you don't have to count because you get the beat, and you play with it. (even though your just ringing them back and forth unlike a play giutar)

lol poor guy. I was like, "Geez, and I never played the song before!!". Oh man, lol! Yeah! The power switching off! But heck yeah, you did really, really well!!! That's kinda what happens with me- I only play with my friends (save for the one version I own, and even then my PS2 is slowly dying on me, god rest it's soul...).

It's all about the rhythm, man! All about the rhythm. xd

I dunno... I mean, having a PS2 is good- but if it's dying like mine is... Oh god, I can't even play Okami or Disgaea without some skitzy problems! Still, they do have awesome games. But they can't compare to Nintendo's graphics in any game they put out.

You should ask your parents for a PS2! I mean, you did the entrance exams today! You could ask for a PS2 and a game or two as your big Christmas gift- something like that. mrgreen

Yeah, but we are low on money right now so we won't be getting a lot of presents this year. Besides I want it, but I don't crave it unlike my friend Alison. She doesn't have a stopping point and she is kinda straightforward. At least that's what Sayre(pronounced Sarah) says. I just agree is all.
I changed the subject didn't I.

Changing the subject, but I'm continuing with it. xd

Yeah... this year for Christmas we're not doing much too. The economy is s**t (excuse moi French dere!) and, frankly, we decided to do little odds and ends, tiny knick knacks and such. I mean, the biggest thing I got my sis was a 9 dollar movie of Dr. Strange- her favorite Comic Book hero from the past. We're not doing much either.
