The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
Familiar face on television
Monday, November 19:

Getting in the car after working last night, I was exhausted. All day I had been depressed (and, today, well it's starting off the same ol' way). I'm blaming my medications (the Doctor lowered my dosage, but that sorta puts emphasis on the side effects for a while), but really, I hate feeling like this. My parents are understanding about all this, and yet I still want to curl up into a ball and go somewhere to hide away from the world.

Well, being in the weird topsy-turvy ride of emotions, I was happy to get home where there would be no surprises or strange events that would further send my sanity into a question downwards spiral (after listening to over 8 hours of Christmas songs on the overhead radio at work).

Mom, of course, had something, though. She let me know, the second I got in the car, that 12 News had visited her store. Curious, I asked as to why. It's not every day that a news station, let alone the more local one, comes by any store around where we live to put a spotlight on a store or interview anyone!

Listening, I found out that the store was in the spotlight because of our recent cut back on Police on the streets patrolling. It's made the place a lot less safer feeling, for sure, and 12 News knew the my Mom's store often had Policemen checking in on them once in a while for duty. She also said that she had called up Julie (her boss) and told her about the upcoming interview.

Julie, however, for some STRANGE reason, refused to come up to the store on her off day. I mean, honey, if your STORE- the one you currently OWN under full name and rights- is getting on the television for any reason at all, you should very well show your face due to the fact you're the boss AND owner.

Course, that's just me. I mean, I work at another store. I have no right in saying this, right? Right. YEAH right.

Anyway, so Dad and I got excited. So slap happy giddy were we that I stayed up until 11 (sleep insomnia is making me go to bed earlier and earlier these days) to watch the news.

Sure enough there was my Mom!! Oh, god, she was beautifully strong giving that interview! I couldn't help but hug her, saying again, over and over as a sort of amazed chant, "I am so proud of you, mom"!

This morning I'm still proud of her. She's not the kind of person that likes to be the one in the spotlight; an interview is hard enough for anyone, especially when you don't know about it until several minutes beforehand.

We taped the thing. It's funny. Looking back on it, my family has had it's share of the limelight of News channels everywhere. Dad has been featured twice, mom once and me three times. One of the times I was featured, for example, was a special to promote Cincinnati's Children's Hospital and put awareness to the new GI level added to it. It was more of a special than a regular news thing.

My heart swells when I think of what my mom did. Like I said, it was hard for her, and she kept admitting how nervous she was. Despite this, she gained the strength to be interviewed and her feelings put before the whole of Cincinnati.

My mother was always strong in my eyes. This is only proof.

In the words of my mother this morning, as she reads over my Journal entry through teary eyes and a glowing smile... "We rose the the occasion, baby".

We rose the the occasion and took flight, mom.

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww. That's sweet that you said that about your mom. My whole family has never been on the news. My school has been in the newspaper, but I'm not on the picture...I think.

My mother has always been my hero in my life. She's done so many hard things and suffered through so many trials with a smile on her face... It's amazing. She's the one that's always told me to smile and keep an upbeat personality.

Awww! Dude, the newspaper is cool! Which newspaper? I was in one once, with Anna Eilers and Corinne Stricher. In fact... Here's the link! It's still up! Holy cow, that's amazing... considering this was years ago. Thank you internet vastness!

I believe it was the Enquirer. Not quite sure since I never got to see the article crying oh well. We were in it because we got our 4th blue ribbon of exellence and we our the first school in the nation to get 4!

DUDE!!! That's cool!!! See, our school, we never did anything like that. At least, not with me around. lol!

As far as not seeing the article... like the one I just pulled up from years past, maybe you can search the Enquirer online database and see if they still have it! Worth a try!!

Yup! You'll never know what you'll find on the news! Like, today, on the news, a massive crane in our city fell over. It blocked a whole street and smashed an unoccupied SUV like it was an elephant stomping on a Mt. Dew can. It was amazingly funny and scary at the same time.

No one got hurt, thankfully. People just got scared outta there wits. Frankly, I giggled a little when I saw the thing lying in the street on the news. There were people being drama queens over retelling how it fell. "It, like, when all slow mo and....WHAM it hit the van. I couldn't believe my eyes, man!". lol.
