Thanksgiving
Well, it's Thanksgiving (aka Turkey Day) today. The day that Disney tells us that the pilgrims survived a long harsh winter, then the Native Americans helped them, giving them a feast. I personally think it's wrong for even Disney to make things like Thanksgiving all nice, like that, when in reality, that's not what happened.

Yes, their was a long harsh winter. Lots of pilgrims got sick and died. They weren't prepared for it and ran low or even out of food. Those who survived, were thankful, but the Native Americans didn't give them food. The remaining pilgrims slaughtered Native Americans for the food they had. They never handed it over willingly to them. Yes, the pilgrims had turkey, corn on the cob, etc, but that's because that's the kind of food the Native Americans had and what they had taught the pilgrims, before the winter hit.

So celebrating Thanksgiving, is rather disgusting, in my opinion. However, it's been morphed into a holiday where we give spend time with family, eating a large meal.

For here, it's not a great holiday. We tend to have bad luck on Thanksgiving day. One year, our stove went. Another year, my older brother had passed out, falling and hitting his head on a heating duct. The injury was so bad, he needed to have surgical staples put in. I personally can't recall all of the other incidents, but my parents say we've had many more bad Thanksgivings.

So... happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it.
