The many rants of a work in progress
Various updates
Alright, so...sorry for not being as active as any of y'all would have liked. Work, school, friends...you know, life. It's been kinda top priority.

First off, let me say that my work is starting to royally piss me off. No joke, I'm seriously considering handing in my resignation one of these days. Why's that? Well, many things. One is that some customer's just don't...friggin'...read! I'll be finishing an order, announcing the person's total loud and clear. Someone else walks up, sees my lane's light is on, see me handing the first person their receipt, sees me start up the wide conveyer belt, and thay ask me "Are you open?"
...uh...NO!!! I'm just rehearsing for a god-forsaken skit! No, the fact that I'm checking someone out already is no means to consider - maybe they were just wanting a price check on seventy-five items? Ya think - d'ya think?!
Another factor of my quit consideration is the Customer Service Manager. She needs to realize that there's a front end department - which she runs, by the way...and...*gasp*...things happen there! Someone needs a Manager's Override, I'm there. A gentleman doesn't know where to find a bag of chips, I'm there. A cashier needs to get behind a locked door to the cigerarette corrals, I'm there. Yet, when the CSM sees me do this instead of "running the floor," she gets onto me for it.
What the hell? Come on, Lisa! I'm doing everything you've done before! Sure, I may not have my own set of keys for the Service Counter, and I may not qualify for a TimeClock Override, and I might not get a Masterkey anytime soon...but for the love of god, open your eyes! Things happen on the front end that you can't see in the damned office! Give me a frickin' second to answer a question by another cashier! They need to know something, I'm there! You're NOT!

Well, I've got a sorta-second-job. Joe's Pasta and Pizza, if y'all have heard of it. It's a great place to eat. A newly opened one is nearby, and my dad is friends with the owners. Nice British couple. My older sister would die to meet them. My first day is on Tuesday, and every new person gets trained on a Management level. It's a nice thought.

Hmm...the Invisible Children program has taken my school by storm. Heh, my Government teacher showed us the documentary over a month ago, and now the school is littered with posters promoting the Northern Uganda situation. Organizations have popped up, such as SAGA ((Students Against Genocide in Africa)). Hell, my whole Senior Class of 2008 is inspired by it. It's a good thing for my school.

Last update...sorta. I can't sleep tonight, school is in six hours, I need to be up and running in four, and I finished this thing at 1:50 in the morning. I had to get this stuff off my chest. Woohoo.

Get yo' butt on more often!

Haha. I hate the "are you open?" question. Like, at Target, if you don't have a guest in your lane, you're suppose to stand outside your lane to welcome guests in. It absolutely cracks me up when I'll be standing outside my lane and a guest comes up shyly and asks, "Are you open?"

No. I'm guarding this lane so that you can't come in. I'm not open and I'll never be open. All of the other cashiers standing outside their lanes are also guarding their lanes so that people can't get in. Now go away or I'll be force to ask you if you'd like to save 10% by applying for a Target RedCard.

Ugh. People.

Sounds like this Joe's Pasta and Pizza is a nice place to work, especially if the owners are nice people...and British people. xD

I wish the whole US would do more about the genocides in Darfur. There's another Holocaust going on right under our noses but instead, we've got out eyes focused on Iraq. Come on, US.

...I miss-eth you, Leoshiiiiii! =[
