The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
Account of Hannah, my minature Toto
Sunday through Monday:

So Sunday it happened. Finally, they actually went through with it and Brian, Denise (the Gestapo Queen herself) and Anne-Sophie came down with the scared little angel. Hannah was welcomed into the family in a quite unexpected way. Brian was afraid that our bigger dog, Bella (the German Shepherd-beagle mutt mix) would be aggressive towards the little tyke. Frankly, it was the other way around.

We decided the dogs should meet each other before entering the house, so they met, leash-to-leash in the front yard. Hannah kept lunging at Bella, snapping jaws, growling and bristling. Bella, stock still, stood her ground patiently next to me and my mother. The reason Hannah acted like this is due to the fact she spends mostly ten hours or so at home, alone, without any dogs. When humans do come home, she gets shut in the cage (in the case of Denise and Anne-Sophie) or is let out for only a few hours (Brian). She's not used to animals.

She was great the rest of the night. That wasn't what makes me regret ever having them come down. No, what irked my very last strand of nerves was my mother's doing. It caused a whopping migraine for everyone, I realize, but still...

My mother had offered for the Princess-in-making, Anne-Sophie, to spend the night. The last time that I had to "sleep over" with her was up in Chicago during the wedding. I was pushed from sleeping spot to sleeping spot because of her, and... well, I'm not divulging into everything (I don't want to relive how spoiled she was and how she got away with EVERYTHING), but I wanted to scream when she allowed this. I had suffered from my insomnia (badly) for the last two weeks, I worked early tomorrow, and my Chrons that day had reared it's ugly head and flared itself into a whole 24 hours worth of pain and discomfort. This was piled on with the fact dad had to work that night (wasn't fair for him to come home late at night and have a usually hyper Sophie to deal with).

I think she realized her mistake shortly after Sophie's parents left. She mentioned that she "couldn't just let them (the parents) not enjoy themselves when they were down here". I agree with that, but we could have had her stay until they got down with whatever they were doing. A sleepover disrupted everyone's plans. Plus, she didn't realize what happens when the adults stop watching Sophie and she's alone with me.

I have a curse, so to speak, and that's when the Princess truly changes.

As you can expect, mom didn't realize what this meant. I'm always having the kid pushed on me. I end up BABYSITITNG her, having to deal with her inane demandings and constant lying (yeah, this kid is a real winner when she's talking. 90% of what she says are clear and often times overly dramatic lies). She reminds me of a miniature beginning of a early Britney Spears or Paris Hilton. Now, I know. I can imagine some people saying, "Get some balls and stand up and say something"!. Oh, trust me. I did. Let's see.... I mentioned this wasn't a good idea to the parents about five times, told my own parents at least twice, mentioned my ill health (that was a ticking time bomb of discomfort all that night)... And, well, I just as well gave up. No use talking to parents and adults.

She drove me nuts. Plainly, with a doubt, undeniable insanity ensued. I actually became depressed most that night, but I did my best to entertain her. She ended up getting sugar high (sneaking candy, something she'd denied with up in Chicago-- AND FOR A GOOD REASON!!), playing "I love Rock and Roll" on Guitar Hero twenty-three times in a row (I counted. She can't even play the game right... kept failing. It was amusing, to say the least)...

Well, Sophie is (nearly demanding) her own mom and dad to buy her a PS3 this year and one or two of the Guitar Hero games. Yeeeah... rolleyes

Some good came out of it, I suppose. Right now they're gone, and Hannah "the Banana" is currently curled up in her doggie bed. She, herself, is depressed. She misses Brian, and we know this'll last for a bit longer. Sooner or later she'd adapt. She only snaps once or twice at Bella, and that's usually from a scared position under the table. She's still not quite used to see a bigger canine lurking around her "territory". She shakes a lot, gives you the saddest look you'll ever see, but it's all adorable traits of hers. She'll easily pop up into your lap, burrow against your chest and look up at you endearingly. I think she knows, by now, that this "new" home of hers will actually do her some good. She was hardly played with, kept to herself, was left alone for too many hours on end. Here she actually has action, purpose, and something to always do.

On a completely different note, I finally won an item on Ebay that I've been searching for for, well, ages! It's a digicube Vivi plushie. Vivi is a game character from Final Fantasy IX. He's a nine year old black mage, and for some reason if I had to choose a character to represent my life, that'd be him. Tragic little guy and everything.

Also, Hannah comes at a great, and ironic, time. Tin Man, part one, was taped, and I mentioned to mom, "Hey, Hannah is our little Toto, isn't she?". Still, I saw part one. If the rest of the mini series, judging from part one, is as good as it was, then I think we have a gold prize winner here! Wonderfully twisted, dark with a hint of Tim Burton scattered amongst the designs (he doesn't, sadly, have anything to do with the creation of the Sci-Fi mini series). Part two is tonight, but I'll have to tape it again.

It has two actors I know and love: Zooey Deschanel (Trillian; Hitchhiker's Guide...) and Alan Cummings (Nightcrawler; X-men 2). Really intense, love the character designs and the plot is so drastically different, but all the while touching on similar elements from the original story, that it's completely refreshing. Horrible cliffhanger leading up to part two, though! Well, not horrible as bad but "horrible" in a way that it really makes you sit there, jaw hanging open in a stupid gawking fashion and you crying out in a strangled, cracked voice, "Well, what happens NEXT?!!".

The bat things from Tin Man rock.

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart
