The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
'I swore I'd get a paper cut by now...'
Tuesday, December 11:

Things have been going smoothly for the last few days. Can't say many bad things have befallen this often unfortunate or wacky life of mine.

This time of season comes with a sometimes nasty little annoyance that we both endear and endure. Yes, folks, I'm talking about the age old tradition of Christmas shopping! Luckily I began buying for people since August. After delving into the horde of goodies I had obtained for my loved ones and scattering the contents on the card table we use for wrapping, I realized I'm pretty much done with everyone. Know what I say to this? Two words: "THANK GOD".

I don't hate doing it- in fact, I often go overboard with the gift giving. I get giddy when I see my nephews, step-niece and family tear into their brightly covered, gaudy colored boxes containing their much sought after treasured dreams and wishes. Still, I hate the gouging of prices, the crowds streaming through every store, and the nasty people that are so annoyed they have to spread their bad moods to everyone around them. Still, I also relish this season with the beautiful, kindred people who will just stop and chat, to laugh with you; complete strangers, but because of the joy in the season, they spread their love everywhere.

Well, like I said before I rambled, I got a majority of my shopping done. If not, I AM done. I actually saw how much I had bought and I nearly died. Gotta say, everything I found was a steal by way of prices (one was a wall charging vacuum cleaner normally 15 dollars, but I got for ten cents). This huge amount... I went and wrapped everything last night. I swear! I felt like I was going to get a paper cut or SOMETHING from the sheer mass of wrapping paper I went through. Two rolls, one tape dispenser and a whole lot of insanity later and I was near to pulling my hair out. I'm not a whiz when it comes to wrapping. Frankly, my packages can either look picturesque, or... GROTESQUE.

I had fun, though. Tonight I'm going out with dad. He has to get something for mom. After that, I have to figure out how to wrap my friends presents'.

Also, Brian came home. He's my 20-something year old nephew who I look up to so much. He joined the Airforce a while back. He'll be home for almost the entire month of December!! I've missed him beyond belief. I was so scared when he wanted to join, but... well, I wrote a narrative about my feelings ("Taking Flight" wink , and it sums up everything. Now I'm just so proud of him. He's the strong eagle that I've come to respect!

However... him being home is also leaving me with a sickening realization: he's being sent over to Iraq, now. He was originally stationed to stay in the United States, but the military came by and plucked several members of his unit (including him) to be sent over....

I'm both scared and... well, I've got to say I believe in him. I know he'll be fine. He has to be...

I'll sum this entry up by saying the Sci-Fi miniseries Tin Man rocked. Got to see it in it's entire glory (even a bit of the repeated three parts on Sunday). Sure, some people may say the lead actress was horrid, or the graphics could be better (any better and they'd have to spend whazoo of cash, and it'd end up being a movie on the big screen rather than the silver screen!); still, I loved every bit of it. The ending could have been better (they left you going, "...That's it? Wait, I mean, what happens now? Does she stay there? Does he leave? Is the witch really gone? Does he get his brain back?" wink . Superb, though. Can't wait until the DVD comes out in March.

Oh, and I have to say I loved Alan Cummings in it. The guy was a genius, and even mom adored his character. The one character they could have done without? Believe it or not, it was Toto. I can't even tell you how much they messed up his character (he's a shapeshifter?!). Tin Man (aka Wyatt Cain) was great at his role too; however, I can't help but hate him at the same time. He was extremely cold and uncaring until towards the end, and it frustrated you to no end that he couldn't give in a little.

And... I have to say... my one humor bone to pick with the series was Azkadelia's mobats. It's how they emerged. I won't tell you how she did it, but anyone who saw the miniseries was most likely laughing as hard as I did.

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart
