behold the actual 1st part of the epic story of 7 written by... yours truly.. 4laugh
If you ask anyone “How many points are on a compass?” they will surely answer that there are 4. Right. WRONG! What most people and planets tend to ignore is the power of the direction “up”, excepting, of coarse, FourStars. This land alone has a country that floats freely above the main continent. That is LostSky of FourStars. FourStars being the only inhabited heavenly body to apply and be directly refused the title of “planet.” Denied on the grounds that a planet orbits and has a defined shape. A defined shape apparently does not class as a giant floating island thing in the sky. After much debate they decided on the title “Free-floating Continent.” Observe FourStars, the land appears to be merely an Earthly island (complete with those little crinkly islandy bits around the edges) except where the ocean should be is empty space. It does not even have a proper sun or moon or any other satellite. FourStars has the Light. The Light swirls about the continent; it casts the light of day when above the land, night is when the Light turns to the side of FourStars so that the surrounding Darkness blots out its rays. The Darkness is another unique thing about the land of FourStars. It is the realm of the demons. The demons are summoned from their shadowy world into the human world by the Summoners.
Observe Sari. The Apprentice Summoner sits in her attic room over looking the street below. Her head is pressed against the cool glass of the window and she stares down at the passerby. Let’s join her.
Sari sighed and watched the rain splatter against her window. She pressed her forehead against the cool glass and watched the street below. It was almost empty. Not many people passed this way. Still, they were just normal people going about their normal lives. Unlike Sari. She hadn’t considered herself “normal” for quite some time. Since before her sixth birthday, and before her parents had sent her away to live with Lady Morgan, Demon Summoner in Chief. She’d practically been sold. The girl sighed again; tomorrow it would be her thirteenth birthday, and her eighth anniversary as an apprentice Demon Summoner. Eight years she’d been here. That meant, tomorrow was her first demon summoning, and the Advancement Exam. “From Apprentice Summoner to Junior Summoner was a big leap to make. But... still...’’ She thought aloud. Resting her head in her hand the girl sighed yet again and then, realizing that all this fretting was really just a bunch of silliness she turned to go to bed.
