The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
Kicking off a brand new year
Tuesday, January 01:

The old year has been shelved, left to demise in a bout of forgetfulness. This year, the big, shiny and over exaggerated ol' '08 seems to be promising. I can't say much for the first day, however. Wasn't all that exciting at first.

I did get a gift, though. I was off both New Year's Eve and Day. Thank you Julia! I swear, sometimes I truly enjoy not working. I managed to finish up two chapters of my book, thank you very much!

Today it snowed. Why, oh WHY, couldn't it have had this mini snow storm on Christmas? I mean, wholeheartedly, falling snow seems better for that day than New Years day. It just seems more... Oh, I don't know...inspirational, I suppose, that way. Just seems like, since we had about two "Indian Summers" during this winter already, it would have been nice to see snow on the ground for a nice Christmas day. Oh well. Beggars can't be choosers.

Went to Boarders. Seems the store has finally stocked in an Anime movie that I have been dying to see. It's called Paprika, and is a mind numbing, all out wacky look on dreams dripping with Technicolor over brights. Like an acidic trip, it's a fanciful romp into the weird and strange secrets that come forth from our private dreams that are bestowed upon us in the safety of our sleep. It's been heralded as the next movie worthy of Hayao Miyazaki's style and skill of work (it isn't, however, connected to him or Studio Ghibli in any way).

For a glimpse of the first few minutes, or opening credits, of the movie, check out this Youtube link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=TQQfKI7RDlk

The movie was featured once in my school newspaper (back when I attended Highschool). Sure, it has slight sexual undertones, but then again, there's not a movie out there you can't avoid something like that. And, anyway, it's about dreams! Dreams are as screwed up as they come! I mean, heck, some of the things my brain has concocted in the middle of the night could either scare the spit out of Stephen King or make American McGee or Tim Burton amused.

Anyway, I digress. Our newspaper had given it rave reviews. Anything of that magnitude (Anime, wacky and weird, insane acid trip style) is right up my alley. I love eccentric things like that, and the art looked so smooth, and the motions of the characters so polished that it made me drool out of tantalization.

Besides seeing that, apparently Boarders is getting Trinity Blood in now. Also, mom'll be interested to know that volume 2 of Shonen Jump's Death Note has been released; I often see her, on a Saturday night now, staying up late and actually recording the episodes to re-watch the next day (in case she couldn't stay up to watch the whole thing). She's dying to know what L really, truly, looks like (she hasn't been able to watch the last few episodes, and those were the most crucial to earlier development of plot; thank god I'm here to explain everything!). She's taking a liken to him. Too bad- I don't have the heart to tell her what tragedy befalls the eccentric detective.

Tempted with all of this, I opted for a Dr. Who magazine instead. I wanted to bone up on the news before mom and I settled down to a little online episode. Billy, a friend of mine, and fellow Whovian, was nice enough to send me links, enabling me the access to the Christmas special that currently is only aired in Britain. Voyage of the Damned was it's title, and damn, was it good! I admit, corny at times but, then again, this IS Dr. Who I'm talking about here! Dr. Who has been KNOWN to be corny throughout it's existence! You don't go one episode without some moment where you go, "Gee... ain't that the corniest thing I've seen"?, or, "And the Doctor HAD to go and do that. He's an idiot". Still, it was fantastic!

A ton of deaths in that episode. I just had to point that out.

So, mom and I spent New Year's day watching the infamous Voyage of the Damned episode, being general Whovian fans and bubbling- in fangirl fashion- over David Tennant and his exploits as number Ten. It's funny how youthful mom gets with certain actors and such (Depp, Cage, etc; not to mention fake characters such as Vincent Valentine, Reno, Cloud Strife or Howl).

Thank god dad puts up with us being Sci-Fi nerds and all. xd

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart

Doctaaahhhh Whoooooo! xd Boy, who'd have thunk that such an often times corny show could be so fun/exciting? Oh man, Billy, you should see it though: dad positively HATES Dr. Who. He makes fun of it every time we (mom and I) watch it. However, with Voyage of the Damned he couldn't help but, as we were watching it on the computer, walk by several times to stop and check out what was happening. Seems I can convert him yet!

Oh, Billy... I should also take some word advice from the Daleks. Next time you poop me out, all I have to say is, "EXTERMINATE!" domokun

lol!! Yeah- but, Emma, TAPs is pretty awesome, I'll admit to that! Plus they're pretty much the only paranormal investigators I've seen that actually go in to, like they say, "Debunk first", so they don't get carried away and loose their heads thinking every little sound is a ghost. They're the more professional ones out there! Can't wait until they go international. I'm a bit of both, a paranormal and a Sci-Fi geek.

My current wallpaper is of my Anime obsessions with Hellsing OVA. sweatdrop I had K-9 from the Dr. Who series up a while ago; I love that little metal mongrel.
