10:49 AM: Cristobal Huet will play his 4th straight game tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning. This game will also be the first of the new year at home. We haven't had much success lately at home, but it could be turning around! Corey Locke is expected to play his first NHL game. Brian Smolinski and Patrice Brisebois were at practice with their teammates. Smolinski was suppose to be out for another 2 weeks or so, and Breezer already got the permission to play from the doctors.... So it's Semi-good news...
8:18 PM: 20 minutes are finished and Alex Kovalev and Chris Higgins strike at the Lightning's net to make a 2-0 lead for Montreal! Our Powerplay does once more damage. Both goals on a PP. Michael Ryder and Mark Streit picked up an assist on Kovy's goal. 1-0 Montreal. Andrei Markov to Saku Koivu, Koivu to Higgins, Higgins shoots and scores! 2-0 Habs! Karri Romo and Cristobal Huet both stopped 9 shot each... Huet made some spectacular saves.
9:16 PM: Awful! 3-3 after 40 minutes. We let loosed and got scored 3 times... Lightning's first line, Vincent Lecavalier, Vaclav Prospal and Martin St-Louis. Turnovers, bad passes, etc, etc. Lightning won the second 3-1... only Michael Ryder scored for Montreal. Higgins and Streit picked up assists.
10:18 PM: 6-3 Montreal final! Andrei Kostitsyn, 10th, Kyle Chipchura, 4th, and Michael Ryder, 6th, scored for Montreal in the third! Ryder and Higgins seems to have chemistry together. This is the first time Sergei Kostitsyn did not get a point while his brother got one, since he was recalled. Great night for everyone in general. Huet was great, stopping 30 shots out of 33. Higgins gets one goal and 2 assists. I hope Ryder will get on a game scoring streak... even though I don't like him much.
