4-3 Overtime Win
10:43 AM: With Markov already declared he was going to the All-Star game, he can now focus on the games ahead. The Black Hawks are an Original 6 team from the Western Conference. So it's rare that we meet each other. There's gonna be a pre-game ceremony to honoring the 82 years rivalry. Brian Smolinski scored the game winner for Chicago the last time we met. He was then a Hawk, not a Habs. Cristobal Huet will begin the game in the net. Chicago is having problems right now, and we might be able to take advantage of it.
6:19 PM: Quick report: Corey Locke will play his first NHL game, Patrice Brisebois will play in this game. Mathieu Dandenault will be in the stands.
8:34 PM: 2-1 Montreal after 20 minutes. Horrible calls or no calls by the referees even if they are against Chicago. Habs played very well and Huet was excellent... when he was in the crease. His puck handling is absolutely monstrously awful! I almost got cadiac arrest each time he touches the puck. Great night so far for Captain Saku Koivu! One goal and one pass so far. Chicago played well. Lalime made some very good saves. 10-11 shots on goal for Montreal. Description of the Montreal's first period goals: Patrick Kane and Guillaume Latendresse were fighting for the puck on the boards. Tender won. He passed the puck towards Saku who was rushing to the net. Our captain deked Lalime and scored of the post. 1-0 Montreal. Jack Skille scored for Chicago. 1-1. BlackHawks gets a penalty, sending the best PP to work. On the left, Roman Hamrlik passes to Saku Koivu who was on the right side. He gives the puck to the blueliner Patrice Brisebois in the middle. Breezer takes a normal shot, while Lalime was slighty moving at the wrong side. 2-1 Montreal.
9:28 PM: 3 all after 40 minutes. Great intensity from both teams given a great show to watch. Both goaltenders played well. There was only the "mistake" that Huet made on the third goal that was dissapointing. 27-22 shots on goal for Montreal. Description of Montreal's second period goals: Chicago scored two unaswered goal. 3-2 Chicago. Chicago gets unlucky and gets a penalty, giving the Montreal PP a chance to make a mark for a second time tonight. Well It does. Alex Kovalev gets the puck going on the boards. Two Blackhawks were going towards AK-27. He makes a quick pass to the All-star starter, who shoots and scores on the top left corner. 3-3.
10:16 PM: 3 All after three periods. Going in OT. Lalime has been great, while Huet... good and lucky. One point in the bank. 36-27 shots on goal for Montreal. No goals were scored. Montreal has lost 3 and won 2 in OT.
10:30 PM: Montreal wins 4-3 OT versus the Chicago Blackhawks! Great pass by Maxim Lapierre, who was followed by two-three guys, to Guillaume Latendresse, who completely alone, for his 12th of the season! Mad Max was on a longer shift than usual. The Powerplay tonight was amazing! 2 goals on 3 PP! 38-28 shots for Montreal!
