Ookami's Tale -- Part Two
Okays, finally, its here! Ookami's Tale Number 2! We haves a new character addition this time! Meet Kuma, Kitsuki's childhood friend! Kuma's character came from my friend, Togaoki ^^ Have fun!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally, the last bell of the school day rang. It had been a week since I started here. The second I got out of the building, I ran home to my tiny apartment, my MP3 player in my pocket. (I haves no idea exactly how I would listen to it since my ears are on the top of my head…(wolf ears, remember? ^^”))
“Hey, ‘Suki, someone’s looking for you,” Izuko said as I entered the apartment.
I took out my earphones. “What’d ya say, ‘Ko?” I asked.
“I should smack you,” he muttered. “I said, there’s someone here for ya.” He pointed to the couch.
“Hm?” A boy with dark hair and bear ears sat there. “Who’s he?”
The boy stood up. “Are you saying you forgot about me already?” he asked, turning to face me. He smiled, his green eyes shining brightly.
“You do look familiar…”
“Aw, I can’t believe you forgot. Guess I’ll have to remind ya.” He pulled something from his pocket and placed it in my hand. It was a small, blue stone that looked like it had been broken in two pieces.
“Hey, this is mine! I have the same thing! An old friend gave it…to me…” I looked up at the boy again. Looking closely, I realized. “Kuma?” I asked.
He smiled. “Yep.”
“You look so different!” I laughed as I hugged him. “Hey, where are your glasses?”
“Contacts. You look different too, Kit.”
“Oh, you’re ‘Suki’s childhood lover?” Izuko asked, grinning.
“Erm, I wouldn’t say that,” I muttered. “Kuma’s my best friend.”
“Suuure…”
“’Ko, shut it,” I growled.
“Aw, its fine, Kit,” Kuma said, holding me close. “Let him have his fun.”
“Lighten up a bit, ‘Suki,” Izuko said.
My other cousin, and Izuko’s twin, Izumo, came from his room. “Leave her alone, brother,” he said, emotionless.
“Oh, fine. We’re gonna go out for a while, ‘Suki. See ya!”
“Good-bye, cousin,” Izumo said before following his cousin out the door.
Kuma and I were alone now. “What now?” I asked him.
“Dunno…” he said.
There was a knock on the door. I released myself from Kuma’s grip and opened it. Yamazaru was there, his notebook in my hands. “You dropped this, he said, smiling a little. He handed me the notebook. “Your stories are good too.”
I growled. “You read my notebook? That’s personal!”
“S-sorry…I didn’t think you’d mind…”
“Wait, you think my stories are good? They suck!”
“Not at all! I like ‘em.”
Kuma stood next to me and put his arm around my shoulders. “Something wrong, Kit?” he asked.
“I’m fine, Kuma,” I said, moving away from him.
“Am I interrupting something?” Yamazaru asked.
“Not at all. Wanna come in? It’s cold out there.”
“Sure. The monkey-boy smiled and stepped into my tiny apartment. Kuma glared at him.
“Erm, I’ll go make some tea,” I said, sensing the tension in the air. I ran to the kitchen.
Yamazaru sat on the couch. Kuma sat on the loveseat across from him.
I came in and sat the tea on the coffee table and then sat next to Yamazaru. Kuma growled and took his cup, still glaring at Yamazaru, who had taken his cup as well.
“Hey, um, Kitsuki,” Yamazaru began, a bit nervous.
“Hm?”
“Me and the others planned on going to do karaoke next week and, um, I was wondering if you wanted to join us.”
“Karaoke? I can’t sing, sorry.”
“You don’t have to sing, you know. I just wanted to know if you’d like to come.”
“Um, sure, I guess. Where?”
“We’re gonna be going together after school some time next week.”
“Okays…”
“I’m coming too,” Kuma said suddenly. “Sounds like fun.”
“That’s fine,” Yamazaru said, smiling. “It’ll be more fun with more people. Neko, Alef, and Tori are gonna be bringing someone else too.”
“So you though that you’d take me?” I asked.
“I just thought it’d be nice to ask. You could’ve turned me down ya know.”
“True. Well just be happy I’m going, alright?” I leaned over and kissed his cheek.
Yamazaru blushed and Kuma growled. “Maybe you two should go,” I said, standing up. “I don’t need any bloodshed around here. I’ll be the one who has to clean it up.”
Kuma was about to object but Yamazaru interrupted him. “You’re right,” he said. “I’ve been here too long anyways.” He stood up and walked to the door. “See ya Monday, Kitsuki!” He smiled and left.
“What about you, Kuma?” I asked.
“I’ve got nowhere to go,” he said, smiling.
I sighed. “Take my room, then. I’ll sleep out here.”
“Ya sure?”
“Yep! See ya in the morning, Kuma!” I layed down on the couch.
“Alright…” Kuma stood up and went to my room for the night.
