A new month! Huzzah, the days are whirling by, faster then ever! Has anyone else noticed that, or is it just me? I was mentioning to my cashier today, saying that sooner or later the months are going to creep up on us, and half the year will be gone.

"Yeah," she replied. "Soon we'll be saying, 'Merry Christmas' all over again."

I shudder- no, CRINGE- at that thought. I'm just getting over the nightmares I had with that particular season, that holiday of commercial and economic filled doom. I just want the days to go by a little slower. Not only for the sake of keeping my life from speeding up suddenly, but I really don't want to become 20 in August. I feel like, then, that's the last of my "allowing to be somewhat goofy and fun loving" stage of love, and I'm thrust into the world, the reigns of adulthood shoved in my hands.

Anyway, so, moving on... The subject of this entry should be familiar to anyone who knows Jhonen Vasquez and his numerous (often times dark humored, macabre) works. I've got an Ebay account and, no, I don't use my parent's money. Anything I buy is used with my own hard earned cash, and I make sure that I keep within a reasonable limit. I'm pretty wise about it, too; you get too carried away, and you're in major trouble (and, HOLY COW, is THAT tempting!!!).

On Ebay I had bid on an item (besides some cards needed to complete a kickass deck), and it was Spooky, the squeaky skeleton doll from Jhonen's comic I Feel Sick!. Today I had a horrible day at work, but getting that little sucker in the mail really upped my mood quite a bit. He's adorable! His head swivels, and his squeak is indeed, as it should be, VERY annoying. Overall he was worth it. He wasn't even expensive- I had sniped the item, bidding on it when others had overlooked it. I'm very good about doing that, and I win 98% of my things that way.

I have a few funny things about this. The doll, itself, in it's box, was wrapped with a plastic bag. That's usual protocol to keep it a bit safer, during transportation, as it lay in it's larger packing box (keeping from shifting around and breaking, it parts were fragile). However, well, it was until after, when I looked at what was written on the bag, did I have a laughing fit. "Otakon- for the Otaku Generation". Quite fitting for me, I suppose. rofl

Also, on the back of the box of Spooky, Jhonen has been nice enough to have listed the practical uses for the doll. Some are a bit bawdy and strange (but nonetheless extremely funny). I should really post up what they are, they made me giggle.

Now I'm off to go annoy my dad with the thing. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEK!

Also... might I add, before dad goes screaming, literally out of his mind and my household blows up from the sheer annoying sound wave blast of the constant squeaking I shall soon perform, I have to mention that, out of the goodness of her heart, the seller sent me a special goodie for free. It's a Jack Skellington bauble, some sort of hanging charm that you either put on your cellphone, or something...else.... It's cute, and really unexpected!
