We stood there as if frozen by the stillness of the night. “Ryu lets go home. Ryu? Ryu-kun?” I said fearfully. He was completely still his eyes normally deep blue were fire red, crimson his face blank emotionless. The wind shifted and ruffled his black hair I gripped his arm tighter. I let go and looked him in the eye and suddenly I saw a flash of darkness. I fell over as it happened again this time longer I couldn’t breathe, I saw a pool of blood then I emerged from the blood gasping, gagging, and screaming. Then arms grabbed me and pulled me under once again. I found myself in a dark place still covered in blood naked cold in pain. Then came a flash of light I saw Ryu with a terrified look on his face he screamed 'help!' I tried to move but I was in too much pain my body wouldn’t let me move. Suddenly the ground beneath me shifted and I began to fall. I head familiar and unfamiliar voices all speaking at the same time. I couldn’t drown any thing out they were telling me bad things. “NO, NOOOOOOO!!!!!! MAKE IT STOP!! HELP!”I screamed in horror. Then I heard a familiar voice “Yuma, Yuma its ok I’m here!” it was Ryu. I stated to scream then cry. Something was shaking me and calling my name “Yuma, Yuma” then as if it were a bad dream I woke up but I knew it wasn’t just a dream. I looked at myself cuts, deep cuts all over then I looked at Ryu who was kneeling beside me, his clothes were torn and he had a few cuts as well. I stated to cry Ryu held me close. “I don’t want to go back so don’t make me go home! I don’t want to be alone!!! They will come for me! ” I said “I would never break that promise I made to you, I will protect you no matter what! You can crash at my place and tell your mom that your are Jessica’s house, she will cover for you." ok lets go. Can you walk?" I tried to move but when I did a wave of pain filled my whole body. Ahhhhh!!! 'Ok I will take that as a no' he said as he gently picked me up I expected it to hurt but it didn’t. I felt safe in his arms cradled like a child in its mothers arms I was safe.He carried me home I fell asleep in his arms. I remember at one part he was talking to despite the fact I was asleep. Sometime during the night I remember I rolled over it hurt a bit but I saw him in a chair next to me he said “Don’t worry I wont let them get you I will stay up all night to make sure it doesn’t come back” then he touched the side of my face slightly and pulled up the blanket then it went dark and I fell back asleep. Then I began to dream I saw me in a room it looked similar to mine there was a mirror I walked up to it and looked myself straight in the eyes but it wasn’t me in the mirror there was a girl with white hair and snow white skin with black lips and nails. She had the same red eyes as Ryu did that night I knew not to look in her eyes but something told me to. I felt as if something was turning head. “Ahhhhh!!!!!” I began falling again the voices were back I screamed for Ryu “Ahhhhh!!! Make it stop.” He woke me up. He held me a while. But I couldn’t fall back asleep. Then he began to sing. He had an amazing voice. it almost made me want to cry the song was a Japanese lullaby a sad one too. i closed my eyes he gently touched the side of my face I slowly drifted back to sleep as he whispered “I wont EVER leave you.”I woke up it was about 4 am I had had another dream but it wasn’t a horrible one although, a strange yet familiar voice told me to visit a grave yard not to far from Ryu’s house. Looked over my shoulder he was still awake and he must have washed off some of the blood and put some bandages on me there was one wrapped around my head too. He also put me in his baggy cloths they were sort of comfortable. I rolled over and he glanced over to see what was happening. “Thank you I said.” “No prob I washed your clothes for you" he said while handing me a pile of neatly folded clothes. “Ryu you really didn’t have to....”."Yes I did" he interrupted "I was the one who got you into this it was the least I could do it was my fault." “NO! Ryu its not they are my spirits....” "That may be but its my job to protect you.... my princess" “alright then lets stop arguing, we must be on our way. "To where?" he asked. “The grave yard a couple blocks away.” He didn’t ask any questions. Then Haru came into the room "Hey good morning Yuma~hime-chan” you sleepy head!" she said bursting through the door carrying a tray of tea and muffins. “Man Haru how are u so perky all the time? I mean what time did you get anyway? I asked rubbing my eyes sleepily. "1:00 bright and early! Isn’t it a beautiful day?! "She said as I walked over to the big window and pulled open the velvety red curtain it was raining there was fog and thunder and lightning. “What the hell is wrong with you!?”? "What?! Oh and Ryu your bed is very comfy!" She said "What the hell!? You slept in my bed? " He said as Haru shook her head up and down. Ryu rolled his eyes. I sipped the last of my tea. Ryu pulled on his coat and helped me into mine. “Thank you Haru-chan." Ryu said “Bye Youe-you-chan!” I said waving good-bye. We finally got there and we stood there the fog seemed to consume us.We walked slowly and cautiously. I held Ryu’s arm. I went ahead for a moment letting go of his arm. I saw a bright light I was curious to see what it was, as I got closer it seemed to move. Soon I was running to try to catch up to it. All of a sudden I fell into a whole, which seemed to be a grave. “Yuma-Chan!” I looked up at Ryu standing above me trying to catch his breath. “ What ……h-happened!?! ” he looked in front of him for a moment “oh s**t! Okay this is getting way too creepy!” I moved around trying to see what he was looking at. Then I saw it the empty grave I had fallen into had a headstone it says Yuma Hime Kadatarino Vandette, dies in 1 min it was counting down! Ryu began to climb down to save me when something grabbed him and pulled him up I heard him scream and a drop of blood fell on my forehead. “Ryu-kun!!!!” I screamed. Then I started to fall. I looked down whipping a tear from my eye trying to see what was at the bottom. There was only darkness. Then, splash! I landed in water, deep water. All of a sudden I felt something grab my foot and pull me deeper I saw her face, that girl…from when I looked in the mirror…. then everything went dark.I woke up coughing. I glanced over at Ryu he smiled at me I saw more cuts all over him. I felt a burning on the side of my forehead just below where the bandage was. Oww! I screamed touching the wound. “Don’t touch it he said, you will make it bleed more.” I looked at my hand it was covered in blood. Ryu looked like he was in pain but as always he was trying to hide it. He wasn’t doing a vary good job of it. I looked in his eyes and began to cry. “Ryu-kun why would you put yourself through all this for me!” I said as I wrapped my arms around him and cried into his wet chest. “Because I love and I need to protect you…my princess. he said as he stroked my long, wet, hair. I’m always here for you.” He kissed my head and said, “Lets get outa here.” He picked me up and carried me around for a bit. Then he saw something. I tried to see what it was but it was gone. “Stay here.” He said while setting me on the ground gently and putting up a force field, not saying another word, and running the other way. I sighed angrily and crossed my arms. I felt so helpless always having to be saved by Ryu. I wish I was stronger and could at least help him. Ring, ring my cell was ringing, oh s**t it was my mom! Ummmm…hello? ‘Yes hello, where are you?’ “Ummm… I’m with Jessica…. at her house.” I said in an unsure voice. ‘Oh well may I please speak with her?’ she questioned in a suspicious voice. Ummm… no actually she is in the shower. I said thinking quickly. ‘Oh really? Well I just call her and she said the same thing about you.’ Oh s**t this isn’t good! Oh well ummm… I just got out of the shower actually we are taking turns she let me go first. Oh all right then, you KNOW I’m still not so happy about you staying with this girl…” I hung up before she could finish he sentence. Few! That was close she is so ******** annoying! Then I heard a scream… RYU!!!! Then all of a sudden BANG! Something shattered the force field. I have to save him! Ryu I’m coming! I ran as fast is I could my ankle stung! And I could barely run without almost falling. But I pushed myself to go faster and faster. I couldn’t let him die. It was my chance to save him for a change! Wherever could he be? Then I saw him and I saw…her! She looked weakened. Ryu lay in a corner he held the side of his neck I saw blood gushing out from in between his fingers. Ryu-kun!!! “Yuma-chan look out!” he screamed as a door opened under my feet. Aaahhhh!!! THUMP!!! I hit the ground hard. Owww! I looked up, noooooooooo!!! Ryu!!! God damn it! I looked around a bit trying to figure out how to escape. I came across something that was, for some reason covered up with a white sheet. I uncovered it curiously. It was a mirror. Cracked in one corner, it had a gold frame. Next to it was a journal it was elegant looking. I reached out to touch it but was interrupted by a scream, RYU!!! I began to panic. There was no way I could get up there to save him! Ummmm…what to do what to do? AAAAAH!!!! As I screamed the ground shook and large stones fell. And I covered my head. What was happening? I looked up the stones began to bounce off a force field. A beam of light then shone in my eyes. An opening appeared above me. I jumped up trying to grab the ledge but the ground and everything along with it was still shaking. After the second time I managed to pull myself up.I saw her, white like snow, her long jet-black hair in her face. I slowly chanted with my closed fist held out: appa kimu ni shada! Just like Ryu showed me. Then opened my fist and a blast of wind disturbed all that was once still. The marking on my palm formed in center was an eye it slowly opened and the rest if the marking began forming on other parts of my body. The wind then stopped and a blast of fire busted out of my palm. Yes! I hit her! She stumbled backward and attempted to hit me but I dodged it. But before I could even think she caught me off guard thrashing me into a wall. I sat there a bit trying to make myself get back up but I couldn’t my whole body began to quiver. I could taste blood.She approached me her hair still in her face. She then lifted me up by the collar of my shirt pining me up against the wall. It became hard to breathe. She used her other hand to push the hair back away from her face. It was the scariest thing I had ever seen. Stitches all over her face her right eye stitched shut. Her eye was completely white! She griped my neck tighter as her eyes met mine she said die! I squirmed trying to get away for air but I couldn’t. I glanced over at Ryu lying in the corner way across the room he looked unconscious. I used the last of my breath up screaming. Then the grip loosened as a drop of black blood dripped out her mouth she fell over.I hit the ground gasping for air. I looked at the body on the floor she had a knife in her back. She was still breathing. Before she got up I burned her with one last burst of fire. Then looking around confused trying to figure out who through the knife I spotted Ryu he was standing in the corner limply, his head down. Ryu? Ryu-kun? He then fell over. Ryu-kun!!! I held his lifeless body and ran my fingers through his soft black hair and began to cry. Please Ryu be okay! He was barely breathing. He opened his blue eyes and smiled weakly at me and said “ Yuma, you did it.” He said in a shaky voice. “I…”Shhh… I put my finger over his lips before he could say another word. Then I leaned over and kissed him. I then laid my head on his chest and he whispered, “I love you” in my ear sending chills down my spine. I-I love you to I said still in shock. We kissed one last time then the flash of bright light came again. Later on that night, back at the house Ryu, Haru and I sat and watched T.V. I glanced over at the clock. Wow eight o’clock already! Well I best get going now thanks for all your help. Ryu got up to help me into my coat. No Ryu you sit down and rest! And Haru you take good care of him make sure he doesn’t do anything stupid. “Okie dokie!” she said perky as usual. I walked down the hall and knocked on Cris’s door. “What do you want?” he said. A ride home duh! I answered back he opened the door and pulled his jacket on. “Alright lets go.”
