Death,
It confuses me.
The way it takes
But never gives.
The way it laughs
But it’s not a happy sound.
The way it legers in war
Waiting to strike.
The way it takes pride and joy
In our sorrow and tears.
Death is darkness,
Death is greed,
Death is emptiness.
So when it comes
Laugh in its face,
And go the other way.
