The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
My musings on emotions during this time of the season...
Sunday, March 09:

Has anyone noticed this? Okay, well, I've noticed that, particularly this time- the time before spring and the time around the Christmas season- that more and more people, in society, become depressed. I'm not excluded from this; this time around has been the worst on me emotional wise.

I hear that people become more depressed around this time, but I think it's just year alone that I've noticed it more often. I'm not complaining or anything, it's just a pattern, a trend, I've noticed. Even people, normal customers coming up to my store, seem a bit dour. It hurts me to see anyone I know- family, friends, or even complete strangers- suffering like this. My personality is I need to help them, reach out and lay a tender, caring hand upon their shoulder and assure them that all is, indeed, right in the world and that better times will turn in their favor.

Now, albeit, we've had a ton of snow and horrid weather here in Ohio. It's been constant- hardly any relief in sight. But what my musings are about, this depression, it's effecting everyone, but nationally and world wide.

Could it just be this year has been the worst? With all this bad news- wars, governmental problems, gas prices and the whole lot of bad omens- could it finally be wearing on our nerves, rubbing them just raw enough to make us lash out and dive into either a hostile attitude or a submissive depression? Bills, taxes... that's everyday life, but can we really blame all that on our depression? I have no idea. I know I'm getting less depressed over my medical bills these days, and I'm becoming more optimistic the closer we get to the promise of fairer weather.

Yeah, now that I think about it, it is the weather. It could very well be that! We're getting tired of the rain, of the constant sheet of eye stinging white that layers the ground, caking it in a crunchy frosting.

In this case scenario, though, I sort of wish that people could be a tad more optimistc. Heck, I'm not saying become some sugar crazed individual, adapting some goofy grin all day long and spazzing out like some ridiculous slave to happiness. No, I'm just wanting to see the world become a little brighter. Once again, perhaps it's the weather. Perhaps, hopefully, once I see the snow melt, the grass spring spring back up and the petals of our local flora unfurl to be graced by the sun, then I'll see a lot more smiles and a lot less frowns.

On another note... there's nothing like seeing birds, especially at this time. If anyone wants to see the beauty and intensity of nature in their own backyard, do this: give birds food.

Seems simple, right? It's amazing how many people forget about those little critters in bad weather. We (my family and I) feed the birds constantly. In the front, back, and side of the house we have suet and seed feeders. On the porch we just pour seed on top of the snow resting on a table. Blue jays, cardinals, ravens, crows, even woodpeckers and squirrels- they all clamber to enjoy the fest befit for avian royalty.

If you all want to see how wonderful life is, just sit at the window and watch them for a bit. Beauty, grace personified, it's amazing how wonderful those little beings are. They're fantastic, interesting, quite worth studying. It sounds boring, but trust me, it never is. If you want to realize how much they matter, watch them. They're waiting for us to finally understand them.

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart
