Chapter Two
I put my face in my hands and cried. I couldn’t help it. I was stuck in a dark library with no windows. It would be like living in a cave. I wiped away tears and stood up and walked to the bookshelf. There were forty books. It would take me forever to finish that many books. Even if I did read a book a day it would take me forty days. “I better get started.” I whispered to myself. I picked up a leather bound book and sat down again. While flipping through the pages my heart sank, this would take forever.
I read all day. When a servant unlocked the door to bring me my supper, I asked her where my father was. She said, “He’s off trading my lady. Left this morning won’t be back for a few weeks.” With that she left me to my supper. Staring at my supper, all lay out on a silver tray. Anger filled me, the tray was suddenly in my hands and a thought crossed my mind and I threw the tray at the door with an angry cry. The soup, salad, roast beef, were now strewn on the expensive carpet. The tray they were on, was dented from hitting the door.
