Hello all! I didn't get any comments, so I think everyone forgot about this journal XD I didn't, and I'll continue to update it for my invisible audience. Go me! I may even have a stalker-san who reads it without telling me. *gasp* that would be strange!
Anyway, I met up with the famous Ms. Nice Person yesterday! Lol, that's what I've decided to call her online. She runs the organization, and I don't want to use her name directly. She was actually quite different than I expected. Oh, but I'll get around to that. First, why I had to meet her: to pick up the guinea pig, of course! The guinea's name is Morgan, and she's two years old. I've seen pictures of her online, she's sooooo cute! (She's on Petfinder. So if you're a true stalker-san, you could probably find her... but then again, Morgan's a common name ^^-)
So, yesterday we were supposed to pick Morgan up. Ms. Nice Person told us to come to a vet clinic about a half hour's drive away from our house - that's her base of operations... or so I thought. When we got there (just after closing, 6 o' clock) we told the receptionist we wanted to see Ms. Nice Person. (We used her real name, duh) The person called to her, and I realized two things. 1. Ms. Nice Person isn't the owner of the clinic, she just works there. 2. Ms. Nice Person doesn't have her base of operations there - she doesn't own the place, and couldn't. Ms. Nice Person was also very young - probably a Miss Nice Person, but I don't want to assume (you know what they say about assuming...)
But Ms. Nice Person seemed very confused to see us. Oh, us is me an' mom, by the way. Well, Ms. Nice Person asked who we were, and when mom explained, she gasped and looked down - totally mortified. Turns out, she'd forgotten we were coming - Morgan was still at her house! She was devastated and embarrassed, but mom kept telling her it was okay. We arranged to pick Morgan up on Thursday instead, and Ms. Nice Person apologized a bunch of times. But it was almost funny - turns out, everyone makes mistakes. We really are only humans!
So I'm getting Morgan the guinea pig on Thursday now - barring any additional mishaps. I'm pretty excited still! I've been doing lots of research on guineas. It's a little more complicated to me than, say, hamsters or rats were. Rabbits, too - I think the bigger rodents, or maybe just the rodents with more specific dietary needs, are more confusing. Which, I should be able to understand everything but diet, but of course this can't make sense... at least I know how to feed her and play with her properly now ^^- So I'll be a good foster mommy for a while!
Well, I'll tell you how Morgan is once I get her. I'm very excited! I could say that same boring sentence a million times. In fact, I think I will... nah, I'm too lazy to even copy+paste. So I'll talk to ya all on Thursday or Friday! *imaginary crowd goes wild*
