I just got done watching The Golden Compass, which is based on the book Northern Lights by Philip Pullman (I only know that, because it just said it in the credits).
Overall, it's a great movie. It's about a parallel universe where people have their spirit in an animal form, that travels with them. Their's a government group trying to control the people and they're kidnapping children, to do experiments.
That's pretty much all I'm gonna say about it. Any more and I'd possibly ruin the story. If you liked The Chronicles of Narnia, you'll probably enjoy this movie. The 2 aren't related, but... they both have talking animals and are fantasy, so... yeah.
