The long forgotten lore of my life
When I feel like it I'll update with my thoughts, views, nonsensical ramblings or events. Just another look into my chaotic enough life. I never know what's going to happen.
Video games, grilling out and the gorgeous sunshine!
Sunday, May 04:

There's just some days we're simply blessed with. Today was one of those sanctified moments, those pleasant days where nothing seems to go wrong.

It started off with a simple fact: I was off. Man, those days are rare and far between these days. When I get these days where I don't have to work- simply become lazy and do whatever I want- I LOVE it. I actually slept in today, getting up at 8. That, to me, is a BIG thing. I normally get up at either 6 and 7:15 on the days I'm off. I really, really loved just having that extra hour of peaceful dreaming.

I managed to get a whole bunch of my writing and editing tackled. Normally I only get an hour or so, if even that, daily to do this. I managed to correct nearly five chapters, editing names and facts. I've even begun the final process of printing out the chapters, finalizing it into a "book" form. Even tweaked one of my half demon. His appearance, before, was too bland and I wanted to spice him up. I had no idea how to do it, but I wanted him "better" than he was currently. Well, about three weeks ago I had someone waltz right into our store. Of course, he was, well, more of the Gothic-punk bike type of fellow. Right away my cashier at the time was talking bad about him, pointing out how he was dressed. In response, I went out of my way to help him. I found out he was extremely sweet, even polite. He was about 29 or so.

His appearance and fashion style is hinted in my newly reformed character.

Besides writing, I managed to get a little quality time with my parents, especially dad. He works so often that I rarely get to spend any free moment with him. We went running around, doing odds and ends, mostly chores. One of the things I had to get was a money order for something I had finally gotten on Ebay. I've loved these things for a while, and I really think highly of the master of weirdness, American McGee. I had found, on Ebay, for cheap, a pair of figurines. Who were they? Alice, with her blood stained dress and equally, if not liberally, splatted butcher knife, and her companion the Cheshire Cat. Now, this cat isn't the cute purple and pink striped fellow you see in the (botched) Disney classic. Oh ho, no, this guy is different. Think something totally twisted and warped. He's emaciated beyond belief, and you can see every single bone in his body. Tattoos adorning his gray furry flesh, he's got a symbol for males on one ear and the symbol for females on the other. He's fantastic, and I've always loved his design. So, yeah, last night I won him. They stopped creation of those figurines, and, well, they can get pretty hefty in price. I wanted to snag one before Tim Burton released his film, and the hype for all things Cheshire Cat would begin anew.

Ever have any of those videos and games lying around you don't need? Yeah, so did we. Dad and I went over to a brand spanking new BuyBack store (it's like a Block Buster, but more advanced, dealing in everything from games, movies, CDs, etc). I admit, we didn't have a lot, and there were some pretty outdated movies there. Still, we got a whopping $51! Holy cow, dad and I couldn't believe it. So much for old Star War and Indiana Jones movies! While there, I snagged a "new" (although clearly used) game on my part. Played if for a bit when I got home.

I love going to Gamestop. Apparently they had had a game just come in, one that I was looking for. Lynx told me about this series, and I was thoroughly interested. Problem? The game is EXTREMELY rare. When I mean rare...well... I tried several places to find it, but to no avail. Gamestop had one arrive listed as "used". Shrugging it, I went. I was seriously wanting to play it. Lynx claimed that this game would most likely give me ideas for my novel which I wouldn't mind.

Well, I went. Took them awhile to find the game- they had to pull it from a box packed to the brim with weird, oddball games. They weren't kidding when they said it had just arrived today! What's funny was when the cashier looked at it.

"This is strange," the cashier, Terrance, said. I have a really keen eye, and that's what I remember his GTAIV ID tag said.

"What?" I was a little worried when he started chuckling.

"If I had known this was going to be bought right away," he said, holding the game in his hand and looking longingly at it, "I would have gotten it first. This looks brand new."

"Whoa, you serious?"

"Yeah, look."

We took a look at it. Sure enough, there was only a single small mark, much akin to a slight scuff mark, on the back of the case where it had simply rubbed up against another game during it's shipment. It was otherwise glossy, unmarked, and when he opened it it had that satisfying SNAP! that newly opened games have.

"Yup. It's new. Dang, you're lucky."

After I had bought the game (dad picking up a baseball game for himself and Return to Castle Wolfenstein, a remake of an old game me and my family used to play a lot), I turned to dad. I asked to see the game real quick before we started (I hate looking over merchandise I've just bought while someone else is driving). Still, I was curious.

I examined the case. Yup, pristine condition. I carefully opened up the game case and could get a whiff of what I call "that new videogame smell". It's from the plastic of the inside case. Anyway, I took the booklet out and opened it, noticing the pages were sticking from being new. I looked along it's spine- it hadn't any worn edges. Brand new.

I had to carefully take the CD out. Anyone buying a new DVD, CD, etc will know you have to be careful the first few times you take it out of it's case. It's sort of stiff, right? That's how this game was. I looked on the back. Not a single fingerprint.

I had just bought a rare game, brand new, for half of it's original price just because someone, while never playing it, just turned it in for quick cash. Man. Life is good.

Tonight dad's grilling. He's the master and grilling steaks and hot dogs. I can't wait! God, today's been great! I have a light step in my walk, and a smile on my face. The sun's shining, my plants are beginning to poke their small green heads through the loamy soil...

Can life get any better than this?

heart Peace out, ya'll! heart

P.S: Here is a picture of American McGee's Cheshire Cat to all of you who are not familiar with it.

Sleeping late is awesome! I remember one time, on Summer break, I went to bed at 6:00 in the morning (stayed up all night) and woke up around 4:00 p.m xd . Good luck with your book! Gamestop is so cool! Games and magazines on games xd I still think bookstores are better though. I love that new game smell! All plasticy and fresh! There's a lot of "new something" smells 3nodding like new car smell, new house smell, new book smell, new movie smell, new flea collar smell xp but that's not very healthy to smell. That's so cool! what game did ytou get? OH GOSH gonk that cat is worse then Gloomy!!!

I know, sleeping late is wonderful! It's just that my body refuses to let me. I have an internal clock or something. Then again, Jhonen and I share something in common- we both think that if we sleep late or nap we're wasting precious time we could be doing something. Thanks! Got to print out the finalized first for chapters. I'm really on chapter 26, but I wanted to do this process so I can have it in it's most complete book like form. Bookstores are good, but to me, well, I love video games- I'm a tomboy, lol. New car smell rocks, and you know it. xd Well, I got two games. The one I got first, at that Buyback store, was a Fullmetal Alchemist game. The SECOND game, the one that's extremely rare to find, was Digital Devil Saga for the PS2.

Fullmetal Alchemist game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fullmetal_Alchemist_and_the_Broken_Angel
Digital Devil Saga: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Megami_Tensei:_Digital_Devil_Saga

Right away you should be able to tell a difference even between the moods of the two games. Anyway, they both look promising (one's merely for boredom, and the other one is going to be taken more seriously). LOL! Gloomy and Cheshire Cat. Man, I LOVE that mangy cat. Just think-- on my shelf of my room, overlooking my bed, I have Gloomy, Mr. Eff and the soon to be Cheshire Cat.

Thta's great that you had a wonderful day. It's been a while since I read a journal entry where you weren't all gloomy!

Between both of you, I love bookstores and videogame stores. I love to read, and I love to push buttons. xd There's one game that I really look forward to buying:
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance A2: Grimoire of the Rift. It's the sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance that I own right now. It comes out June 24 so I'm looking forward to buying it, with my OWN money.

*Shudders* That version of the Cheshire Cat creeps me out. I don't think I could live with something like that looking at me all night. But that's my opinion.

Internal clocks are terrible things! gonk I shut mine off years ago! I thought it was Lawliet who said that? 26?? over 200 pages and your only on 26?? that's about....well, 8 pages per chapter xp That's pretty normal, but it doesn't sound like it! Video games are cool! I played Kingdom Hearts about a million times over and that disagea game is fun too! Have you ever read any Books by Terry Pratchett? that's so cool! The second game sounds creepy xp what's it about? They have video games for FMA?? SWEET!

You have little toys of Gloomy AND Cheshire Cat?? No wonder you can't sleep! I know I wouldn't!! That Cheshire Cat was enough to give me nightmares!

Yeah. Seems my blood times has passed, Emma. My medication does horrible things to my moods.

LOL! Reading and pushing random buttons. "What does this button doooo?" God, forgive my random Gir quote there. xd FFTA A2: Grimoire... I've never heard of it!!! When is it getting released? What's it like so far? What system?

LOL! I LOVE that Cheshire Cat. He's so adorable... I want to cuddle him!! God, I'm sick, aren't I?! lol. Eh, I have Gloomy and Mr. Eff staring out at me, Cheshire Cat wouldn't add too much. Then again, Emma, I also have a stag skull on the shelf at the foot of my bed. twisted

My internal clock just plan sucks. L said what? lol. Yeah... some chapters ARE only 8 pages, but then again, that's all there's needed. Then there are some chapters that are 16 or even 25 pages long. It's varied. Mainly they're not longer than they should be. Video games are mah life. KH was fun. I remember that game. I cried for the Nobodies (Xigbar, Demyx, Xaldin, Axel, and, most importantly, Vexen). Terry Pratchett? Sadly, no. What does he write?

Second game is called Digital Devil Saga. In fact I have a trailer up on my profile to the game so you can see what it's like. It's fantastic looking. So far the Embyron group, emotionless in the beginning, finds a girl named Sera. They obtain feelings (save for Gale. For some reason he's still, uh... yeah. Quite literally cyborg/robotic with his responses and feelings), but they also gain demonic forms. Yes! They have games for FMA! In fact, there's one game I wish they'd bring over here. It's only in Japan, and it's called Dream Carnival (as a reference to a sub fun plot in the manga). It's a fighter game!!

FMA Dream Carnival Roy vs Greed:

FMA Dream Carnival Roy and Hughes vs Greed and Scar: http://youtube.com/watch?v=LNKG7IbGl5M

I so want to fight as Hughes just so I can have pictures of Elysia being tossed everywhere when I'm hit. Yeah. That'll be annoying as heck, but I love it. xd

Yup. I have a stuffed animal of Gloomy, and I'll be getting the Cheshire Cat in the mail soon. Mr. Eff sits next to the Spooky Skeleton squeeky doll (from JtHM), and the skulls and bones sit above them on the shelf. They don't give me nightmares; they comfort me. twisted

Yeah xp I crushed mine years ago xd L said that He was to busy to sleep? Remember? Isn't that why he's an insomniac? I so want to read it! Do you know when it's coming out? I like the nobodies! gonk I hope they all come back or something! The heartless are cute blaugh the little ones with those little pointy "ears" coming out of there head that make them look like aliens? I think they're called Shadows or something xp

Doesn't sound all that fun xp don't know why... FMA video games WEEEE!!!! They have a game for that? That would be so fun to play! As long as they translate it into english, at least sub-titles. Lol that's just mean! xd
