(6) I desperately tried to breathe. I had Restrictions on my neck and both my wrists along with Raphael. They just kept coming. Plus this group was called ZERO. It really annoyed me and the lack of oxygen to my brain was only causing rash thoughts. “Raphael! Cut!”
Raphael raised his hand. “Gentle breeze turn into blades. Blades cut my opponent.”
“You keep on forgetting we feel no pain.” The green haired girl exclaimed. “Sever! Slice!”
“Denied. Grasp the attack and mirror it intensifying.”
My vision was turning fuzzy. We were attacking with pain but they weren’t responding. Think Aymie, what would work? “Raphael. A dust storm. They can’t react to pain because their nerves are numb. Dust muffles the senses of hearing, sight, taste and smell. They can’t feel pain but they need there other senses. If not, I don’t know go paint or something.”
Raphael turned to look but he was blurring and moving everywhere. I couldn’t tell what he was doing but quickly his back was turned and I kneeled down trying to focus.
“Blades revert to gentle wind and become a fierce storm. Sand align with the storm and scratch at my enemies.”
“You guys are dumber than you look.” The blonde sacrifice smirked. “We can’t feel pain, did you forget that part? Honestly you guys don’t have a name and your battling style sucks. Quickly! Block.”
The fighter unit raised his hands to the front and created a shield. “Defend!”
Raphael watched them picking me up. “If you fall asleep or pass out it will be a Total Restriction. Stay awake a little longer I’m almost done.”
“Mm-hm…” I mumbled. It was hard when there wasn’t enough oxygen. But Fighter Units were used to this. Most Sacrifices were too, I wasn’t, until two maybe three weeks ago I had become a sacrifice. “You’ve made me frustrated ZERO. The leaves on trees are my paintbrushes; the grass beneath my feet is my canvas. Shall your blood be my paint?” The sand started to swirl faster and leaves ripped of trees flying towards the ZERO’s. “The canvas is being painted and you are completely restricted. You lose.” The sacrifice fell to the ground all of its senses covered and at that moment I gave in to the blackness and went limp.

I sat up quickly and looked around. Everything was black and white. “What in the world?” I murmured walking from the couch. I was in Raphael’s room. Walking around I felt nervous. What was wrong? What had happened? I had to be dreaming. The world being black and white except for me wasn’t normal.
“You’re right.”
I looked to my left. “You’re Mr. Soubi!” I exclaimed.
“Actually my name is Ritsu-sensei.”
He looked a lot like Mr. Soubi. “Ritsu…sensei. What’s going on?”
“I don’t appreciate people who have all the answers given to them.”
I looked around. Truthfully I just wanted to make up. I stopped my head behind me. “CONFUSION.” I murmured. “Is that my name?”
“Correct. At the moment Raphael should be with you. Bring him back to the School.”
I felt a hiss get stuck in my throat. “Well if he ran away from the school do you really think he’d go back?”
“You want to be able to properly battle don’t you?” He looked at me and I felt myself go numb. “You know he takes twice as much pain as you do and you have a hard time staying conscious while battling. Bring him to Gora and you both will be trained to work together. You own him.”
“But I.” What did I want to say? “He left though. I don’t want to go. I can’t. I refuse.”
“I’m not asking I’m ordering.”
I blinked and everything was back to normal and I was staring at Raphael, or he was staring at me. “You talk and sleep walk.” He said in his whispery voice.
“It was a really weird dream. Did you hear anything I said?”
He shook his head holding out a tray. “You passed out on the field. Here’s lunch.”
Lunch? But we fought a little past dinner. “I missed a day of school didn’t I?”
He nodded.
I grabbed the tray and sat back down on the couch. “Well…how’s your life?” He stared at me and nervously I ate. He could tell I was lying. “Quit doing that. I can’t eat with you staring at me.”
He stole the pillow from the couch and threw it onto the ground as he opened his entertainment center and turned on his Wii and grabbed a steering wheel inserted the Wii remote.
“Mario Kart?” I asked nibbling on my buttered toast.
“I told you I liked playing video games.”
“Oh yea huh? You don’t know what I like.”
“Mango-popsicles.” He paused a moment choosing his course. “Actually you like anything that tastes like mango.”
“Not everything! I don’t like Mango…mango…hang on there’s something.” I watched him play as Baby Mario on the Bullet car. I really couldn’t think of anything. “You suck.”
“Hm.” He mumbled. His eyes were focused on the screen the wheel turning rapidly. He was having fun. I stared at my cup of water. It had ice in it. I stared back at Raphael. All his attention was in the game. I picked up the cup taking out the pieces of ice. “I’m not a big fan of ice.”
“Got it. Dammit.” He turned the wheel again with his bandaged hands.
I leaned over the coffee table the cup of water in my hand. I really really shouldn’t do it. I mean he was a video game freak right? He’d maul me. It would probably be worth it to see an actually expression on his face instead of in his eyes. I stared at the top of his head and sat back down drinking my water. I wouldn’t do it. I was too nice. I merely watched him play his game.
It paused and Raphael turned to look at me. “Wanna play?”
“Do you have an extra one?”
He held it out and quickly grabbing it I sat beside him. I chose Browser in the standard car. Raphael was cool. He was my friend. But that Ritsu-sensei…I wanted to become useful to Raphael. He was my friend and he was always saving me. What could I do? If Raphael ran away from Gora to go to China, then come back and says I’m his temporary sacrifice, what was I supposed to do?
I guess get stronger, bleed a little, learn how long I can survive with pain.
