We just got back from Otakon a little while ago. So we're currently hanging out in Naoko's room. Calope's reading Kodocha 7 (which Naoko-chan finally bought) and Naoko herself is sitting by the door, sorting through all her Otakon souvenirs and I'm here...eating the final Swedish Fish.
OTAKON WAS, IS, AND SHALL ALWAYS BE AWESOME!!!! ANYBODY WHO DOESN'T THINK SO SHOULD BE DRAGGED INTO THE STREET AND SHOT!! We got in the car, Calope, Maiyo, Naoko, me, and Calope's mom, and drove off to Baltimore. We started seeing cosplayers before we even got to the hotel. It was so cool, we all starting spazzing out. Then we got to the hotel, dropped off our stuff, and went to go get in line for out IDs and stuff. We were in that line FOREVER, but it was okay. So then we got inside and it was like, otaku paradise...I died and went straight to heaven. So we kinda wandered around for a while. We tried to get into Artist's Alley, but it didn't open up to the public until 2 PM, so we didn't go on Friday. Instead, we wandered around for a while, did random stuff that doesn't matter, then found the dealer's section. HEAVEN BEYOND HEAVEN!!! YEEESSSSSS!!!!! That was awesome, and I spent loads of money. We were there for a while, long enough to go broke. We found a Gaia panel and finally met Jacobo and Lanzer! LANZER!! YEEEESSS!!!! Okay, freak-out moment over. So then we were going to go check out the Artist's Alley but we met Torrent and Kin-san on the way. And we went to see the beginning of Samurai Gun (Kin-san wanted to) and we were about to go to Artist's Alley, when we found out that Maiyo managed to lose the tail she was wearing. We never did find that tail. Kin-san got mad at us. We went back to the hotel, and then we all died...erm...yeah. So we hung out (as ghosts) at the hotel for the rest of the night. Next day (today), we hung out until almost ten, fixing up our signs (my sign was taken by a staff person. I'll explain that later.) and then we went out for breakfast. And after that we were waiting for Calope's mom to get out of CVS (getting Tylenol. Small wonder.) and we saw some cosplayers as people from Okage Shadow King. THEY EVEN HAD STAN!!! KING STAN!! So we got pictures of them before going to Otakon. We headed for the video game room first (it was like, the size of a parking garage) and wandered around there. I was jealous of those many people who were playing DDR and got B through AAA on hard songs. (-sniffle-) After that, we finally (FINALLY!) made it to the Artist Alley. YEEEESSS!!!! We spent basically the last of our money. Then we went back to the dealer's section to get the last of whatever we had wanted. After that, we went to the Gaia panel thingie. GAIA TOWNS!!!! YEEEESSS!!!! (I'm doing that a lot.) So the Gaia towns are supposed to be out next week. So la la la....Mai asked the last question, which was if there would be spell-check. Yes, it is coming. Then we went to the lobby where they were having a little (big) Gaia social. Jacobo and Lanzer (LANZER!!) threw free shirts into the crowd from the balcony. After that, we went home. We dropped Maiyo off and ended up here at Naoko's house. Awesome. Maiyo and I are being past and present Chrono next yere. We didn't see enough Chronos. COSPLAY AS CHRONO SO THERE ARE AS MANY AS THERE WERE OF EDWARD ELRIC!!!!
And now for an amusing and true side-story...
Once upon a time, we were all standing in line at the beginning of the con when we saw two teenage guys. But these weren't just any teenage guys. Yours truly and Maiyo recognized them as....ENVY!! So we both started yelling, "Envy!!" And the guys were like, "They're right! These girls need a Philosopher's Stone!" So they walked over and held open a plastic bag. Upon reaching in, we found out that there we Gushers in it! Yes, gushers. As we laughed and they walked off to go be Envy, one of the guys yelled, "GUSHERS ARE MADE OF PEOPLE!!!" Fun times...awesome, awesome times.
And now Kuroko has to go because Calope's glaring Grim Death at her. Ja ne, minna-san! Go to Otakon! Spin the Gaia wheel!!! heart heart
