The roses lift their heads
To catch a glimpse of my demise

Like ocean waves throw down tides
And my heart's breaking on the shore
The rescue team can't save me now
I'm out too far and in too deep
But I'll be holding onto you forever
And this is where my heart
Is caught and torn
As I read the words you wrote last night
The butterflies creep through my spine
This is an unshakable thrill
Even though we're writing a mistake
But it's hard to erase
All the feelings that have been drawn
I was caught in awkward silence
Broken down by the sound of your prelude
That played to open our most melancholy symphony
I've been sleeping with the sunrise
Watching the hours slowly pass away
Just waiting for the dusk to kill the day

Thinking that you even care at all
