I can't help but feel every now and again that I have outgrown most of the friends that I have. Sometimes they are just so very immature and self-absorbed. It probably doesn't help that I am older than most of them.
Originally when I started High School I basically became friends based on the enertainment value. Well actually, it's only until Middle School that I ever felt that I had friends who hung out with me because they genuinely liked me, before I always just tagged along.
It reminds me of something Benjamin Franklin said; something about how he was friends with the people who could make jokes, but that he should be friends with people who would enrich him and that he could learn from. I find that most of my friends are not enriching me. sweatdrop Wow that sounds conceited.
But seriously, two years ago I joined this charity group at school to raise money for kids in Africa, and I went around telling my friends... and they were all like That's nice. And I'm just like, you people seriously don't give a crap about anybody else, do you.
Um, can't think of anything else to say, but I might continue this rant later.
