Yesterday, xjadestarx and vagabondhippie decided that I needed to get out of the marketplace and have some fun. I told them I didn't know what they were talking about: buying and selling IS fun. But they insisted, so I took the day off and went with them.

There was some big gaming festival going on in a nearby fantasy world and they thought it would be fun for us to go spend the day playing. We called up JJ and Epic to see if they wanted to join us. JJ had some makeover deal planned, so she wasn't able to join us, but Epic was up for the adventure. I'm glad because I haven't seen him around much lately. It was shaping up to be a very fun day.

We spent the day playing and eating and just living up the alternate life. It was a fantastic day. The only dark spot for me was knowing I had left Kaya alone all day (cats were not allowed in the fantasy land). I felt bad that she had to spend the day by herself. Then I got this wonderful idea: She seemed to take pretty well to the little imps that I had brought home a couple of weeks ago, so maybe she would do better than I had thought with a new furry friend. So, while we were out and about, I kept my eye open for the perfect buddy for my Kaya.

I finally found what I was looking for: a small, white polar bear named Pora Ice. She seemed quiet sweet and friendly and almost as shy as my Kaya, so I thought maybe they would get a long.

I brought Pora home to meet Kaya. She wasn't immediately thrilled like I had hoped, but I guess that's what I get for making decisions when spending time in the fantasy world. However, after a few hours of giving each other a wide berth, they started to feel more comfortable with each other. And by the time we went off to go to bed, they were willing to share the bed with each other (and leave a little space for me, too).

Now that they are getting along better, I'm looking forward to taking Pora out and introducing her to my friends. I think they will get along just fine and now I don't have to feel so guilty when I leave Kaya at home once in awhile.
