Racism, Fat Kids, and 9 year olds....why so serious? |

So anyways, I've been playing Xbox Live for a while now. And there hasn't been a single day without trash talking. It actually gets VERY tiring to hear someone spontaneously tell you to "shut the f**k up" either because they think they're funny, or just don't seem to like your voice. Actually, I'm trying to make it sound like I'm not complaining, but I'm guessing that's what you're thinking, right? rolleyes
Well, anyways, back to the topic. If that certain trash talker wasn't talking to me, he'd be talking to someone else. Either about his voice, race, or how old he is. You wouldn't believe how many people pre-judge you just by the sound of your voice. I think around 3 years ago when I was playing Halo 2 online, some guy in the pre-game lobby just went straight to the point that I was fat because of my voice. (I know, WTF?). Well, that guy ended up becoming my teammate, so I just quit, instead of hearing the other insults he'd throw at me. Now here's something that really does piss me off. And it's about racial profiling and just plain old racism. Here's how it went down.
Quote: "Hey, how do you score here?" "Oh, all you do is just get the bomb to the little pad." "I don't remember asking a f******g Asian." Not soon after that."Go back to your Thailand country, Asian."
Soon after that, I found myself getting thrown insults and threats that I just had to make the better of and start betraying my teammates (we were playing a gametype where you couldn't get booted by betrayal). Another good topic was in the pre-game lobby when two Mexicans were talking Spanish. They were both in my team, and they kept talking Spanish throughout the whole game, a teammate of mine just started to yell out.
Quote: "Beaners, get out of here you f*****g beaners! Talk English here."
It wasn't exactly what he said, but that's practically the main point.
I don't even know where to begin with the age problem here. If a kid that sounds technically high-pitched and young, he (or maybe she, I've never met a little kid that plays Halo that's a girl) finds himself getting picked on because he's "too young" for this game. But I am guilty of also creating insults like that, either because the kid caught me in a bad mood, or he just talked "SMACK!". Well, guess what? I have another example for you!
Quote: "Aww, guys, why didn't you kill him? He was low on shield!" "Hey, are you a guy or a girl, 'cause you sound like a f**!"
Again, I don't even think the little kid said that, but I am positive that that is what the other person said.
I know that there will always be a person to ruin the peace between other people, I know there will be trash talking everyday. I know people will get mad. But maybe if you just ignore all those hateful voices, the hatred stops there. It won't spread to you, get you mad and start talking trash back, because you wisely ignored it. Now if only everyone can do that. The hatred in this world will disappear slowly everyday (hopefully ^_^).
So to conclude this rant, I've got one question...
"Why so serious?"
P.S I wasn't really complaining, but just pointing out the fact that there's so much hate in the world, and that if hate does disappear, people wouldn't be making rants like the one above. Oh, and I just wanted to get that off my chest.
