In light of my decision to re-vamp A Bloody Week in Paris I've decided to start it on a new thread sometime next week. This means I'm doing some major re-organization as well. To make things easyer, I'm going to post the Fact Sheet here from now on insted of at the beginning of every chapter.
There will be a link to the fact sheet in the index of chapters. --------------------------------------------------------------------- FACT SHEET
question Jean-Babtiste: ZHAWN - bap - TEEST
question Esme: es-MAY
question Monsieur: mon-SUEUR
question Oui: WEE (means "yes" in French)
question Ile-de-France: The provance of France were Paris is located.
question Ile de la Cite: A small island in the Seine river where Notre Dame was built.
question River Styx: A river in hell... This honestly has nothing to do with France.
question Reason: During the Revoultion, there was a big push in France to seperate chruch from state. It was proposed that insted of worshiping the Catholic god people should pay more attention to simple Reason.
question The river Seine and the Rive Droite: The river Seine is a river that flows through the city of Paris(you can actaully see it in The Hunchback of Notre Dame). Paris, itself, is divided into two sides according to the river. The northern side of the river is known as the Rive Droite(The Right Side), the southern side is called the Rive Gauche(The Left Side).
question L'Eau Noire: Literally means "Black Water." I'm not creative when it comes to the nameing inns.
question The National Razor: Something you'll hear a lot about in this story. The National Razor was the guillotine.
question Parisiens: Name for the people who live in Paris. Example: America is to Americans as Paris is to Parisiens!
question Galerie des Chimieres: The balcony that Jean is trying to reach. Check it out.
question Buttress & Flying Buttress: This. Note that this is not a photo of Notre Dame, this is the flying buttress at York Minister, although they do look very similar.
question Nave: Not your belly button. The nave is the part of the chruch were you find pews. It leads to the alter and choir.
question Facade: The front of the chruch, the "face". Notre Dame's facade inculdes three sets of doors; The Porthole to the Virgin on the far left, The Porthole to the Final Judgement in the center, and The Porthole to St. Anne on the far right. The facade on Notre Dame also faces the west.
question "Heat Racing": Just a little thing I'd like to point out so I won't have to explain it in later chapters, because its a difficult tid-bit to squeeze in. Yes, Jean is alive with a beating heart. The difference is his heart beats much slower than a human's. A healthy human heart beats at about 70BPM(Beats Per Minute). A vampire heart only beats at about 10-15BPM, once every six seconds. heart Ask me, and I will give you a rant to blow your socks off all about vampire heart beats.
