I loved you before I even knew you.
Our journey began at a time notorious for its ability to alter the ways of naive adolescents.
If I were a smarter being, I would have known that our time together would not last long.
But, blinded by juvenile misconceptions and an overwhelming thirst for love and companionship, I pursued you.
Day by day I grew closer to you.
I fed off of your energy.
You became the center of my world.
I longed to be near you.
Everyday my love for you intensified, poisoning you with each confession.
All the while unaware of the serpents that already held you captive.
Each bite worse than the previous.
They enticed you with their promises of perpetual love, something that we both wanted but never found in each other.
After a while, my green heart drove me to insanity and in turn drove you away.
In the end, we die.
